A new batch of stylish Solo: A Star Wars Story character posters spotlight the members of the daring criminal crew that bands together to rob the Conveyex. In typical Lucasfilm fashion, several details about the spinoff's plot are being kept under wraps, but marketing has revealed the broad strokes of the story. It appears we're getting a proper Ocean's Eleven type story in the galaxy far, far away, with veteran thief Tobias Beckett assembling a team to pull off a big job for crime kingpin Dryden Vos. Of course, Han and Chewbacca are part of this motley group, but there are several new faces along for the ride as well.
The trailers and TV spots have primarily focused on the familiar characters audiences know and love, particularly Chewie and Lando Calrissian. Other materials, including tie-in toys and posters, are where the rest of the ensemble are getting their time to shine. As Lucasfilm continues to rev up their promotional efforts, they've brought the whole gang together for fresh one-sheets - which hopefully won't become subject to any plagiarism controversy.

Disney/Lucasfilm unveiled the collection today, highlighting the principal cast. In addition to Han, Chewie, and Lando, Qi'ra, L3-37, Dryden Vos, Beckett, Val, and Rio Durant received the treatment. You can check them out for yourself in the space below.
As indicated, most of these individuals have been extensively covered during the pre-release phase. We've known for a while Qi'ra is one of Han's oldest companions from their time together on Corellia, and L3 is Lando's Millennium Falcon co-pilot who's a different kind of droid than what we're used to seeing in the franchise. Others aren't being featured much in footage, though Lucasfilm is sharing information wherever they can. The latest round of databank updates on StarWars.com mentioned both Val and Rio are members of Beckett's crew. In the case of the latter, he's been working jobs with Tobias for years, so their interactions should be fun to watch. Fans of heist films know the chemistry of the team is of much importance to make the narrative work, so hopefully the dynamics here are as strong as marketing is teasing.
In addition to painting Solo as a throwback adventure film, the most recent trailer planted seeds of betrayal thanks to some ominous advice from Beckett. Han's character arc in Solo is going from an idealistic young man to a jaded cynic, so many have assumed something drastic happens to spur that change in outlook. It would appear at least one member of this crew stabs Han in the back, but that's an aspect of the film that will not be revealed until the premiere. For now, audiences will just have to play the guessing game, since odds are not all of these people are particularly trustworthy.
