Director Ron Howard has given fans a sneak peek at his brother Clint Howard's character in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Anticipation continues to grow ahead of the release of the newest Star Wars standalone, this one focusing on the younger days of iconic Han Solo. Two trailers for the film have so far seen release as well as various TV spots, pieces of poster art and other spoiler-free reveals.
The biggest reveal of course was the first look at Alden Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo. In recent months we've also received our first good looks at Donald Glover's Lando Calrissian, Woody Harrelson's Beckett, Emilia Clarke's Qi'ra and Paul Bettany's Dryden Vos. Other smaller characters have also received their first teases, including Thandie Newton's mysterious character Val, as well as the droid L3-37 voiced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Then there's the villain Enfys Nest, who's so mysterious no one even knows the character's gender. Alas, we've also learned that Boba Fett will (almost certainly) not show up.
As the pre-release teases continue, director Ron Howard set aside a moment for a minor reveal that happens to be near and dear to his heart. In a tweet, Howard gave us our first look at the character played by his brother Clint Howard. See the image below:

This of course is not the first time Clint Howard has appeared in one of his brother's films. In fact, Clint has received at least a cameo in the majority of Ron's movies over the years. Probably the most memorable of those appearances came in Apollo 13 when Clint played NASA flight controller Sy Liebergot. Clint has made lots of other acting appearances in non-Ron Howard movies and TV shows. Star Trek fanatics will instantly remember him as the weird alien Balok in the classic TOS episode "The Corbomite Maneuver." With his role in Solo: A Star Wars Story, Clint Howard joins that select list of actors who have appeared in both Star Wars and Star Trek.
We still don't know the name of Clint Howard's character or what kind of role he plays in the film, but we do at least know what he looks like. The best description of his appearance would be bedraggled with a hint of John Malkovich. Of course, the big question is whether Clint Howard will get his own action figure out of this. Somewhere out there in the world, there must be someone who's been waiting their whole life to have a Clint Howard action figure.
As for the plot of Solo: A Star Wars Story, that remains understandably mostly under wraps. We do know that Han plays a young hot shot pilot who ends up falling in with a shady crowd that includes noted gambler Lando Calrissian. Harrelson's Beckett is putting together a team for an elaborate space heist, and Han wants in on that action. Somewhere along the way, Han ends up flying the Millennium Falcon through some kind of cloud tunnel while being chased by Star Destroyers and TIE Fighters and dodging giant space tentacles. And Chewbacca gets a wife.
