As the Star Wars franchise continues its small screen expansion, Solo: A Star Wars story writer Jonathan Kasdan has offered teases of which characters from the film could return. Kasdan took over writing credits on the anthology movie when his father, Lawrence Kasdan, was tapped by Lucasfilm and Disney to pen the script for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were originally at the helm for Solo: A Star Wars Story before being fired by the studio over creative differences and was replaced by Ron Howard.

Alden Ehrenreich led the cast of Solo: A Star Wars Story as a young Han in his early days in the criminal underworld where he meets his future companion Chewbacca and sets out on a dangerous heist. Alongside Ehrenreich, the cast for the film included Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Thandiwe Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca and Paul Bettany. Though initially debuting to mixed reviews from audiences and bombing at the box office, Solo: A Star Wars Story has slowly gained favor with fans in the years since its release and now audiences may be close to seeing a continuation of the anthology film.

While speaking exclusively with Screen Rant at the Star Wars Celebration Event, Solo writer Jonathan Kasdan shared his thoughts on the potential of storylines continuing from the spinoff film. Kasdan confirmed he's had talks with The Mandalorian showrunner Jon Favreau about the possibility and named two key characters who he believes will return in the future. See what Kasdan shared below:

"I think someday we're gonna see what happened, and how Qi'ra advanced through the world and through the crime syndicates. I've talked to Jon Favreau about it; he's a big fan of that movie and some of the stuff we built out. I always say, "Well, you're the guy to figure it out." I always look to him to keep the story alive and keep it going. Star Wars is going in so many fun directions. Specifically, I saw that trailer for Andor today and I thought, 'Enfys Nest is gonna show up somewhere in that show.' I'm hopeful that a lot of those people continue on the journeys they were on."

While a variety of plot threads were left open by the end of the film, one of the biggest that audiences have continued to cite as needing expansion is that of Emilia Clarke's Qi'ra. The action-packed climax saw Qi'ra kill Paul Bettany's Vos and take command of the criminal empire the Crimson Dawn and being called by Darth Maul to venture to Dathomir to meet him and plan a course for their future. Theories regarding Qi'ra's return have swirled as the Star Wars franchise expanded to Disney+, namely The Book of Boba Fett as various criminal factions with ties to Crimson Dawn appeared, though she wouldn't be seen in the divisive series.

Audiences have also expressed interest in seeing Solo's Enfys Nest make her way back to the Star Wars universe in the future, with actress Erin Kellyman herself saying she would totally play the character again if the opportunity arose. Given Kellyman has since developed a strong relationship with the House of Mouse, starring in both The Falcon and the Winter Soldier as Karli Morgenthau and the upcoming Willow sequel series, it seems possible she could find her way back to a galaxy far, far away. Additionally, with Kathleen Kennedy recently confirming that Lucasfilm is in talks with Donald Glover for the Lando Calrissian Disney+ series and Andor set five years before the event of the original Star Wars film, there are a number of paths for both Qi'ra and Enfys Nest to return.
