Lost Sentry, the Massive Anomaly boss of Ironroot Basin, is the third boss that Rei must face in Solar Ash. This towering, Lovecraftian-looking beast uses giant tentacles to move about and spews a Void beam of corrosive liquid from its mouth. The beautiful world of Solar Ash consists of many Massive Anomalies. Like other Massive Anomalies, the Lost Sentry has only three health points; however, it doesn't make fighting less challenging. Similar to taking down Colossi in Shadow Of The Colossus, players need to focus on striking the vulnerable points of the bosses in Solar Ash.

The Massive Anomaly boss of Ironroot Basin has three phases. Whereas the first two are relatively similar with a slight rise in difficulty, the final stage is where players may struggle the most. The key to beating the Lost Sentry is to be constantly moving, especially when the player is atop the giant's head. Additionally, players will need to fully utilize their grappling ability at a high intensity as slow reflexes could cause Rei to fail.

Once Lost Sentry boss awakens, it will slowly roam the arena. If the player approaches it, a laser beam combined with pools of scalding liquid will fire from its mouth. Solar Ash players will need to be fast and dash out of the way to avoid the attack. Alternatively, getting behind cover, such as a wall, is also a practical move. However, players shouldn't wander too far away from the Lost Sentry, as after it attacks, it will lower three of its giant tentacles. At this moment, Rei will be able to grapple onto one of them, after which the beast will attempt to fling the Voidrunner into the sky above its head. From this elevated position, the player must make their way down to its bone-plated body and begin striking its weak points.

Best Way To Defeat the Lost Sentry Boss in Solar Ash

Solar Ash How to Defeat Lost Sentry Massive Anomaly

Once the player is on top of Lost Sentry's head, weak points will spawn all across its body. Then, in a circular motion, skate around the body, attacking and grappling any green soft spot that appears. Solar Ash players must repeat this process several times before striking the prominent red lump above the monster's eyes. Keep in mind that if Rei doesn't destroy a weak spot in time, the boss will blast a defensive shockwave across its exoskeleton.

During the second phase, Solar Ash players will need to reiterate their movement and actions from the first stage, albeit faster and more precisely. As for the third phase, Lost Sentry's body will turn red and deal damage if Rei comes into contact with it. After dodging the spewing attack and climbing up onto the boss's head, players will need to leap across gaps within its bone plating to reach the weak points. The strategy here is to use double jump only when necessary and focus on dashing and grappling in Solar Ash. Remember to move across the monster's body in a quick yet methodical fashion, platforming from one weak point to another.
