The Crater Ouroboros is the first Massive Anomaly boss that players will encounter in Solar Ash. This long, snake-like creature will awaken once players have cleared the Crater of minor Anomaly enemies. This Massive Anomaly will not directly chase Rei to strike but will instead circle about the giant pillar in the center of the arena. However, if the player jumps on the beast, it will release a deadly shockwave attack. Similar to the other boss battles in Solar Ash, players will need to find weak points on its enormous body to bring it down.

Every Massive Anomaly in Solar Ash has three health points that are tied to the different phases in the boss fight. Each stage will increase the battle's difficulty by adding new mechanics or forcing the player to move more quickly. Accordingly, the Crater Ouroboros will test the player's skill in using their grappling and Timeslip abilities.

For the first stage in the Crater Ouroboros boss battle, skate towards the tail of the monster's serpentine body. In the beginning, it doesn't move very fast, so catching up to it should be fairly easy. Grapple onto the back of Crater Ouroboros Anomaly boss in Solar Ash and rush towards its head while attacking the green, beacon-like weak points along the way. If the player fails to destroy one of these weaknesses in time, the Massive Anomaly will let out a pulsing wave across its body, damaging the Voidrunner. The bar at the bottom of the screen will indicate how soon Ouroboros will attack. After reaching the head and striking its primary weak point, the second phase of the boss fight will begin.

Solar Ash How To Defeat Crater Ouroboros

Once the player takes out one of the Anomaly's health points, Crater Ouroboros will spin violently, flinging Rei to a nearby spot. The player must repeat the same process in Solar Ash as Phase 1. Grapple onto its tail and focus on breaking the weak points along its bone-plated body. However, this time, Crater Ouroboros will move faster and gradually spin its body as it slithers, making the sequence slightly more challenging. Use Timeslip whenever necessary to regain footing on the beast and strike the head again to enter Phase 3.

For the final stage, Ouroboros's bony shell will shatter to a point where only a narrow path of exoskeletal plates remain. Additionally, the boss will turn red, rage coursing through its body. If Rei steps on this red area, she will immediately be sent back to the respawn point and lose one HP. As this phase leaves little room for error, Solar players must focus on hitting the boss's weak points as quickly as possible to reach its head to finish it off.
