With Saban Films having acquired the rights to So Cold The River late last year, the film is finally gearing up to release in March.

The So Cold The River trailer is sure to come as an enticing new outing in the haunted hotel genre for horror movie fans, with a story exploring the nature of a haunted past in a seemingly similar vein to that of The Shining and The Innkeepers. Director Paul Shoulberg also appears to have infused his film with a number of terrifying visuals reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick's adaptation of Stephen King's novel, namely in the sweeping shots of its central hotel and mysterious party setting seen partway through the trailer. Horror genre fans may also find some interest in the film with star Katie Sarife, who previously cut her teeth in the world of haunted locations with Annabelle Comes Home.

So Cold The River also marks the latest dive into the horror-thriller genre from Saban Films in the past few years. 2021 saw the studio pick up the rights to both Don't Tell A Soul and the Wrong Turn reboot while their slate the year before included the Elijah Wood-starring black horror comedy Come to Daddy and the Alexandra Daddario-led We Summon the DarknessOnly time will tell whether So Cold The River proves to be another success for Saban when it hits theaters on March 25 followed by digital platforms and VOD on March 29.
