Zack Snyder's Justice League is seriously beefing up Batman's preparedness for battle - and making him overpowered is actually a smart move. The Snyder Cut has become a Hollywood legend for the history books, going from the mythical relic of a big-screen superhero movie bomb to arguably the most anticipated movie in the immediate future. Slated to arrive on HBO Max on March 18th, the film's marketing campaign has already shown a stark difference between the two versions of Justice League, and the new trailer shows how Batman is being upgraded to take on the forces of Apokolips in the film.

To be clear, Batman isn't being given superpowers for the Snyder Cut, but he is shown to be packing an arsenal of weaponry and vehicles that will enable him to directly battle the Apokoliptian invaders. The most notable example of this is Batman's tank, pulled right out of The Dark Knight Returns, seen in the new trailer. Though it's only shown briefly, the heavily armored tank gives Batman a very effective weapon with which to repel Parademons. One other area of the trailer also shows Batman standing his ground against the alien invaders.

Specifically, Batman is seen deflecting projectile attacks with his wrist gauntlets, and was also briefly glimpsed doing so in the first trailer released during DC FanDome. These show that Batman is not only packing some serious firepower to face the army of Apokolips, but he's also seemingly made significant upgrades to his armor since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Of course, nothing could make more sense when it comes to the Caped Crusader.

Zack Snyder's Justice League Snyder Cut Knightmare Batman

Having previously battled the Man of Steel himself in Batman v Superman, Bruce Wayne went into the fight fully prepared with a durable suit of armor, itself also derived from The Dark Knight Returns. What Batman hadn't counted on was facing Doomsday shortly thereafter, and this left him mostly on the sidelines until he was able to temporarily incapacitate the rampaging Kryptonian beast with his last Kryptonite pellet. Being a highly intellectual hero, and knowing that an invasion was on the way, it's only to be expected that Batman would bring in the necessary artillery, and make the expected modifications to his suit, in order to be able to stand against alien opponents.

The physicality and fighting skills that Bruce Wayne has honed over several decades are also likely to be prominently featured in the Snyder Cut, too. A stunt pre-vis video for the movie shows a rehearsal of Batman fighting a Parademon single-handedly, while an image released by Zack Snyder showing Batman putting an opponent's head into a brick wall could point to another Batman fight scene on the level of the Batman v Superman warehouse smackdown. At any rate, having already faced two superpowered aliens, Batman's clearly aiming to level the playing field this time.

Based on the new trailer, the Snyder Cut is sure to give every member of the League their own show-stealing moments. Being fully aware of what he's up against, it just goes without saying that Batman is pulling out all the stops to battle the invasion from Apokolips head-on. Being a hero who always plans ahead, Batman's upgrade for Zack Snyder's Justice League makes all the sense in the world.
