Warrior Princesses: New 'Snow White & Huntsman' Trailer & TV Spot, 'Brave' Clip

Princesses are getting tougher and more self-reliant in our day and age, as evidenced by these new trailers, TV spots and clips from 'Snow White and the Huntsman' and Pixar's 'Brave'.

More Summer movies are coming down the pipeline, and we're rounding up promotional materials like clips, TV trailers and other goodies, so that you can view them all in one sitting without having to scour the Web.

Today we have new materials for Universal's "not a fairy tale" epic, Snow White and the Huntsman, in the form of a new interactive trailer (that gives background on the film's characters and setup), along with a new TV commercial that puts Snow (Kristen Stewart) front and center as a modern ass-kicking princess. Completing our roundup, we have a new clip from Disney/Pixar's Brave, which is also a modernized princess fairy tale featuring a leading lady who is not afraid to kick a little ass.

Snow White and the Huntsman

SWATH (award winner for best movie title acronym of the year) is but mere weeks from theaters, and anticipation is high for first-time feature-film director Rupert Sanders' retooled version of the classic tale. Trailers and clips for the film suggest that it is indeed as epic and thrilling as first impressions had us believe - which is a relief to hear, after that lackluster other Snow White film, Mirror Mirror caused us to worry that Snow's grace period on the big screen was over.

Brave

It seems that the current trend in film is revising old stereotypes about women as the so-called "fairer sex" - particularly when it comes to princesses. Disney got the new-age ball rolling with Tangled in 2010, and both Mirror Mirror and Snow White and the Huntsman are pushing things further, thanks to their respective depictions of a damsel who would rather grab a sword and fight, than wait on some Prince Charming to come trotting along.

Pixar will be taking on the theme of gender/royal politics more directly with Brave, a darkly epic Celtic story that marks the studio's first attempt at a princess fairy tale. Today's clip shows us Princess Merida's (Boardwalk Empire's Kelly Macdonald) fascination with ye olde tails of battle - and the tension with her mother (Emma Thompson), who believes her daughter's Tomboy nature to be unbecoming of royalty:
