In an amazing win for the esports industry, the Los Angeles-based FaZe Clan has now added California legend Snoop Dogg to its entertainment organization. A certified Renaissance man, the massively-successful rapper, actor and entrepreneur is well-known for his keen interest in the video game industry. While FaZe Clan let anyone join for a day back in August 2021, the Doggfather's introduction to the competitive organization is a much more long-term gig.

Snoop Dogg's skills as a rapper and songwriter have led to worldwide success, and his status as a pop culture icon has opened the door to numerous video game appearances. Whenever he takes a break from recording hits like "The Next Episode" and "Drop It Like It's Hot," Snoop lends his voice as a commentator for titles like Call of Duty: Ghosts and UFC3. It is amazing and hilarious to hear the regal rhymester describe intense gameplay, and some titles like NHL 20 and True Crime: LA even included Snoop as an actual character. Rumors recently hinted at a Snoop Dogg appearance in Call of Duty: Warzone, though sadly this has not yet become a reality.

Adding yet another bullet point to the Doggfather's awe-inspiring resume, FaZe Clan (via Twitter) has announced Snoop Dogg's long-awaited introduction to the esports scene. A post from FaZe Clan reveals that Snoop, under his new alias FaZe Snoop, will join the organization's board of directors once it officially goes public in spring 2022. Snoop's son Cordell Broadus apparently played a key role in organizing the partnership, which will involve the rapper in creative, business and merchandising endeavors as part of FaZe Clan. Thanks to his status as a California legend, the debut of FaZe Snoop is sure to make the esports scene younger, wilder and more free.

Following some controversy last year, FaZe Clan's partnership with Snoopzilla will be a much-needed boon to the organization's reputation. In July 2021 a cryptocurrency scam involving FaZe Clan players came to light, leading to the suspension of several players like FaZe Jarvis and FaZe Nikan. As part of the "pump and dump" scheme, several FaZe Clan members allegedly promoted a new cryptocurrency called "Save the Kids." However, the professional gamers immediately sold their investments once the crypto went live, allowing them to make a profit at the expense of fans.

Despite FaZe Clan's controversies, the introduction of FaZe Snoop is sure to draw an abundance of positive attention towards the esports company. Snoop is well-regarded for his pursuits as an entrepreneur, and his casual elegance will hopefully inform the future of FaZe Clan's identity. While Snoop Dogg may mostly serve a behind-the-scenes role, his gaming skills will also drop FaZe Clan's rivals like they're hot.
