Snooki’s retirement news came as a "surprise" to most of her Jersey Shore co-stars. Fans of the hit show never saw this coming and are preparing themselves for a dull season without the beloved star.
Fans are shocked to think that it was only ten years ago that the young guidos and guidettes graced the small screen for the first time with their fist-pumping and orange skin. The group of young, East- Coast adults was known to party it up at Karma or Bamboo and cook Sunday dinners all while having major blowouts which would end as quickly as they began. Now that the cast is all grown-up, most with spouses and children at home, it seems they're not as keen on forgiving and moving on as they were in their glory days. Sadly, now Nicole Snooki Polizzi is the first to say goodbye to the franchise that launched her career.
The original meatball kept her secret news private from (mostly) everyone until she made her big announcement last week on her podcast. According to Us Weekly, a source told revealed, "Nicole did not tell all her Jersey Shore castmates that she was retiring before she made the announcement." The insider continued, "It came as a surprise to more than one of them."
On Friday the reality tv star took to her Podcast called It’s Happening With Snooki & Joey to drop the bomb that she was officially done with the show. During her December 6th podcast she told her fans that she loved them very much but had to make the decision that was best for her family, which was to end her time on the show. She went on to say that she would not return for season four of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation mainly because she just grew tired of performing every season. The MTV personality’s husband, Jionni LaValle, also factored into her decision as well as her three children, saying she did not enjoy being away from her children. Surprisingly, Snooki also did not like the version of herself on the screen, telling her listeners that she did not like the person she was being portrayed as.
Fans are still reeling from the surprising announcement, but some are not totally as shocked as the Jersey Shore star had mentioned back in September that she was still trying to figure out if she would sign up for another season or not. The guidette is busy with her personal life, juggling her family and boutique in Madison, New Jersey. For the mother of three, it was all about finding a balance that came at the cost of the show.
