Some filters on TikTok and Snapchat tend to become really popular for a short period of time, and one filter that's currently trending is the Shook filter. The user base of TikTok and Instagram is much higher than Snapchat, but some users tend to use all three apps. This is why viral content, especially videos centered around filters, often makes its way to all the platforms.

There's no denying that Snapchat is known for creating some of the best lenses and filters. A prime example is Snapchat's crying face filter, which gives users a very real sad face and is being used to create some hilarious content. The Shook filter is another recent filter that's caught on to the trend. While the filter can't be used within TikTok or Instagram, there is a way to create a video with the filter on Snapchat and upload it on these platforms.

To use the Shook filter, users will first need a Snapchat account, and make sure the app is downloaded on their devices. From there, open the app and tap on the search button in the top left corner. In the search bar, type "Shook". A few lens options should appear under 'Top Results'. Click on the Shook lens which is created by Snapchat. Alternatively, click on this link which should open the filter in the app. If the lens doesn't appear in search results or the link doesn't work, the Snapchat app may require an update. The Shook lens creates an exaggerated shocked expression on the user's face, with raised eyebrows and big eyes/bug eyes.

Within Snapchat, users can choose to snap a photo or capture a video of themselves or their friends with the Shook filter. Once done, either send the Snap to a friend or post it on Stories, if the goal is to use the filter only on Snapchat. If users want to share the video on TikTok or even Instagram, they'll need to tap on the download button at the bottom of the screen. The video will now be saved to the phone's gallery.

From here, all users need to do is upload the video on the platform of choice. On TikTok, open the app and tap on the '+' button at the bottom of the screen. Select the video from the gallery, add any additional sounds and effects if required and upload the video. On Instagram, swipe to the right from the home screen, select either 'Post' or 'Story', and choose the recorded video from the gallery to upload it. The video can also be shared on any other social media or instant messaging app of choice. While this method requires a bit of a workaround, it's a foolproof way for users to make use of Snapchat's original Shook filter on TikTok or any other app where they have the most friends or followers.
