Mobile game company Zynga has announced ReVamp, an upcoming social deduction game developed exclusively for Snapchat. Zynga is primarily known for casual titles such as Words With Friends and FarmVille, though it is expanding into the combat arena space with the upcoming Star Wars: Hunters. ReVamp is Zynga's third Snapchat-exclusive game, preceded by Bumped Out and Tiny Royale.

Snap Games first launched in April 2019. The platform uses the open-source PlayCanvas game engine, allowing anyone to pitch and develop a concept for Snapchat users. It's also simple to access any of the existing Snap Games; all users need to do is enter a chat with either one friend or a group, then click on the games icon to the right. From there, they can peruse available titles and hop into gameplay. ReVamp is the first Snap Games title released by Zynga since the two companies announced a multi-game partnership in 2020.

ReVamp is also Snapchat's first social deduction game, taking the classic format to undead levels. A far cry from Zynga's Words With Friends, the game sees a group of friends come together to repair an old mansion, but one of them is secretly a vampire. While the humans must complete various renovation tasks around the map, the vampire players perform fake tasks while taking out their human counterparts. When a body is discovered, a voting phase is initiated, in which players accuse each other of being the vampire and vote to remove the most suspicious character. It's all strikingly similar to Innersloth's hit Among Us, and though Snapchat's user base gives ReVamp potential access to millions of people, the game may struggle in a market inundated with similarly Among Us-like social deduction titles.

Both Zynga and Snap Games, though, are optimistic about ReVamp's performance. In the press release, Zynga's president of publishing, Bernard Kim, called it one of the developer's "fun new snackable games that fit seamlessly with [Snapchat's] highly social mechanics." Kim also noted ReVamp is accessible to "Snapchat's human and vampire players of all skill levels." Snapchat's head of Snap Games, Pany Haritatos, added, "As our games platform continues to grow, titles like ReVamp highlight the platform's evolution and potential."

Although the market is saturated, players do get to use their customizable Snapchat Bitmoji in-game, which could add a unique twist other games in the genre can't provide. Zynga hasn't yet revealed ReVamp's release date, nor confirmed its maximum party count, but it looks like a promising addition to the growing Snap Games library.
