Snapchat’s new Cartoon Kid lens is perfect for people who love to see themselves in a cartoony form. Users across all platforms love finding fun ways to craft videos. For most, new features are a fun way to interact with their friends, and for content creators, it’s a great way to write new material. Either way, it’s these features that keep users engaged.

Lenses are among Snapchat’s popular features. They add flair to the user's Snaps by overlaying graphics to the video. The technology has advanced enough that the filters can detect facial features and apply them straight to the user's face and hair like a mask. Some lenses become so popular that they become memes, such as the Shook Filter. But trends are quick to fade. That is why Snapchat constantly creates new designs for its platform. Recently, it rolled out a new spin on an old favorite, the Cartoon Kid.

Try this adorable Snapchat filter to participate in the fun. Start by opening the app, where Snapchat automatically starts on the camera screen. Tap the ‘Effects’ icon to the right of the record button to open the lens menu. Then tap on the ‘Explore’ tab to open up the search bar along with the Explore menu. Type in ‘Cartoon Kid’ and search. Find the lens titled ‘Cartoon Kid’ by Snapchat and select it to activate. Now in selfie mode or with the back camera, aim the camera at a person’s face, and the filter will transform them into an animated, Disney-style cartoon kid. It’s super cute, right?

Other Animated Filters To Try Out

Snapchat Bratz Filter

Typing in ‘Cartoon’ in the lens menu will uncover many animated options, such as the Anime Style and Cartoon 3D Style. Snapchat develops some of these filters, but there are plenty from third-party creators as well. Paige Piskin is a top lens creator who designed the Lil Cartoon Bratz lens, allowing users to transform into dolls in their Snaps. The lens masks the users with big eyes and full lips, mimicking the doll brand’s signature look. With plenty of alternatives available, it’s easier than ever to stand out from the crowd. Or, if a filter doesn’t exist yet, get crafty and design it!

The Cartoon Kid lens is a fantastic way to add some fun to a Snap. Even better, use it as part of a skit. It’s not easy to create engaging content in the hopes of being featured on the Spotlight page or to take part in Spotlight Challenges. Keep videos interesting by using any new filters dropped by Snapchat or its creators.
