As the origin story showed, Snake Eyes was smart, but once again, his actions were what drove his story more than his brainpower. With that said, there were plenty of very intelligent people in this movie about vengeance and honor, especially when Snake Eyes met the members of the Clan Arashikage, a group of ninjas protecting Japan for eons.

Akiko

Haruka Abe as Akiko fighting in Snake Eyes.

Akiko is a fiercely loyal warrior that serves the Clan Arashikage as its head of security. Much like Snake Eyes, she found a family with the clan, losing her parents at a young age and having the clan raise her as one of their own.

With combat skills as good as some of the best assassins in John Wick, Akiko is the strongest warrior out of all the characters. However, Akiko made several questionable decisions in Snake Eyes. She knew that Snake Eyes was up to something and didn't trust him from the start, which was smart. Yet, when she set out to find out what he was doing, he outsmarted her at every turn. When Akiko found Snake Eyes stealing the clan's prized gem, she let her heart overpower her brain and allowed him to get away with it. She is supposed to be intelligent, but she failed to show it when the clan needed her to.

Tommy Arashikage

Andrew Koji as Tommy standing in he rain in Snake Eyes.

Tommy Arashikage was one of the best characters in Snake Eyes, the heir to the Clan Arashikage throne and the man who expected to lead it into the future. However, he made some bad decisions in the movie that proved he was not that man, and it cost him everything in the end.

Tommy trusted Snake Eyes, who betrayed him and helped drive him out of his own clan. He also chose before the movie began to drive Kenta out of the clan rather than have him killed, which could have stopped the entire siege from happening. He made one more bad decision when he turned his back on his family and become Storm Shadow in the end.

Snake Eyes

Henry Golding as Snake Eyes in the underground fight scenes.

Snake Eyes was not the smartest person in the world, and it wasn't his fault. He was left to raise himself when his father died at the start of the movie. He did well, becoming a great fighter and learning to live on the streets. He was street smart and that kept him alive.

However, he made so many poor decisions in Snake Eyes that his intelligence has to be called into question. He agreed to work for a criminal to find vengeance against the men who killed his father. He betrayed the one clan who could have given him a purpose in life. He finally showed honor and loyalty, but he was working for the people who killed his father, proving he was never as smart as he thought he was.

Father

Snake Eyes' father died at the beginning of the movie, and there was never any indication of who he was or why he died until the end. However, once his true nature was revealed, it opened up a lot of new information about the man.

Snake Eyes' father was a member of the Joes and he died trying to save the world from terrorists. When Scarlett told Snake Eyes what his dad did, and who he saved, she also said they have not been able to find anyone to replace him. While he wasn't in the movie much, Scarlett hinted that he was a great man.

Scarlett

Samara Weaving as Scarlett pointing a gun in Snake Eyes.

Scarlett has an advantage over men like Snake Eyes and Tommy. While Snake Eyes was street smart and Tommy learned what he needed to know from the Clan Arashikage, Scarlett was a highly trained member of the Joes.

The Joes are an elite peacekeeping force and only accept the best of the best. Once they bring in a new soldier, they train them to become even better, and Scarlett has been a member for many years. She proved in Snake Eyes that she was a valuable ally and was as smart as they come.

The Baroness

Ursula Corbero as The Baroness in Snake Eyes.

A powerful G.I. Joe villain, The Baroness had quite an important role to play in Snake Eyes. She was there for one reason. Her job was to make sure that Snake Eyes stole the mystical gem to allow Kenta to destroy the Clan Arashikage, and then bring the gem back to Cobra to use for their own nefarious goals.

What makes Baroness different from other Cobra villains is that she is really smart and devious. In Snake Eyes, she was who planned the entire operation to conquer the Clan Arashikage, and then she was smart enough to switch sides when she saw she needed to escape.

Hard Master

Hard Master is the greatest fighter in Snake Eyes, someone who beat everyone who stepped in front of him. He took down Snake Eyes more than once and defeated an entire mob of villains during the siege. He was also smart enough to see through Snake Eyes' deceptions.

He is a ninja master, and that takes a high level of intelligence. While he is not up to the level of Blind Master, he is still someone who the Clan Arashikage could trust to keep it safe from all outsiders.

Kenta

Takehiro Hira as Kenta threatening a man in Snake Eyes.

Kenta is the main villain in Snake Eyes. While he partnered with Hydra and Baroness, he is not a member of the terrorist group and is only out for himself. He was once a member of the Clan Arashikage but he betrayed them and tried to take over for himself.

After Tommy banished him, he went on to build a massive criminal organization. He is very intelligent, convincing Snake Eyes to join up, coaching him on how to infiltrate the clan, and then placing all the dominos in a row so he could finally topple the clan. He only lost due to one mistake, but he was smart enough to put himself in a position to win.

Blind Master

Peter Mensah as Blind Master in Snake Eyes promo.

Blind Master was a second ninja master inside the Clan Arashikage. He was the man who seemed calm and peaceful, but he was also a man who proved he could fight with the best of them. He was very intelligent, and he showed this with his discipline and observational skills.

Blind Master is wise and knows what a person needs to do to overcome weaknesses. His test was to help Snake Eyes defeat his fears and was responsible for the future Joe to win in the end.

Sen

Snake Eyes prepares to enter his training.

The most intelligent character in Snake Eyes was Sen, the woman who ran the Clan Arashikage. She is Tommy's grandmother and has run the clan for many years, keeping it powerful and mighty, always protecting Japan from outside forces.

When Snake Eyes came to the clan, she was leery for good reason. However, she also made the best decisions for her clan. When Tommy made his biggest mistake, in the end, she knew to punish him, despite loving him as her grandson. Sen was smart enough to keep her clan strong and know when it was time to make the hard decisions.
