New images for Slime Rancher 2 have revealed different slimes that weren't in the first game, alongside a look at a new biome. Slime Rancher is an adorable slice-of-life simulation game that takes place on a distant planet filled with sentient slimes. Players farm different crops, explore the vast map of the "Far, Far Range", and collect different slime species that inhabit each biome. Slime Rancher 2 was announced last summer, giving fans of the first title a chance to continue their adventures in a new setting.

Fans will again play as Beatrix LeBeau in Slime Rancher 2, as she leaves the Far, Far Range for Rainbow Island. Early trailers for Slime Rancher 2 show players will have access to new tools for farming, as well as numerous new locations to explore. While players will still be able to catch and raise different slimes for their Plorts, it appears the new farm location will be inside a giant, glass greenhouse and offer more room for slime habitats and farming equipment.

In a tweet by SlimeRancher on Twitter, several teaser images were shared to give fans a look at Slime Rancher 2's new world. The images show new slimes, including a bat slime, two varieties of angler fish slimes, and a large pink slime that appears to have been crossed with one of the angler fish slimes. Players will also see a small, blue rock slime in one of the images, confirming past slime varieties from Slime Rancher will also be included in the sequel game.

Additionally, the teaser images give players a look at a new biome in Slime Rancher 2 called the "coral-crusted tidepools ". According to the tweet, these pools create the boundaries between major locations players will be able to explore, offering rocky landscapes speckled with colorful corals. It also appears that like the original Slime Rancher, small caves will be tucked around these maps, giving players the opportunity to locate hidden treasures and beautiful hideaways while exploring the world. Currently, it isn't known what resources could be present in the pools, but it is possible new types of farmable crops will be obtainable through native plants and trees.

Slime Rancher and Slime Rancher 2 offer a unique and different option for fans of simulation and slice-of-life games. The focus on exploration is low risk and is serene and pleasant for those wanting to relax while playing a game. With few NPCs and vast landscapes only inhabited by adorable, bouncing slime species, it can be the perfect option for a casual gaming experience. Hopefully, further news about Slime Rancher 2 will become available soon, giving players a more detailed look at their next off-world adventure.
