A staple of the Zelda games is their dungeons, and returning players get to re-explore the iconic dungeons of The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD. After a trek through the Deep Woods, the first dungeon players will encounter in this game is the Skyview Temple.

Exploring temples in The Legend of Zelda games becomes much easier once players find the dungeon map. Here’s where to find the dungeon map for the Skyview Temple in Skyward Sword.

How to Unlock the Skyview Temple Dungeon Map in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD

After descending the initial staircase in the Skyview Temple and solving a few puzzles, players will need to cut down trees and hit the Deku Baba on top of the vine-covered ledge with the Slingshot. Doing this will stun the monster, letting players climb the vines and kill it. Next, players need to attack the red crystal ahead to unlock the door below Link. Entering this door will place Link across an eye. Moving Link’s sword around wildly will confuse the eye, incapacitating it and opening the door. This door opens into a room with three new doors, where players can begin looking for the map.

First, players must defeat the Deku Babas hanging from the ceiling, along with any nearby Bokoblins. Next, use the Slingshot to hit the crystal above the right-hand door to open it. Players can drop down from this open space, where they will find a small tunnel in the left-hand wall. This tunnel leads to a room containing another red crystal and hitting it will trigger a flow of water into the room. After doing this, head back to the main room and jump into the water. Swim beneath the walkway to the left-hand room, where the player will find another crystal to hit that will open the left-hand room’s door.

In this room, players must head to the tree stump right of the large spider Skulltula. Here, players can shoot down two curled-up vines directly ahead with the Slingshot. After jumping onto the first vine, Link can swing onto the ledge to the right, where the players will find another crystal to hit. Doing so will cause water to fill this room as well. Next, return to the tree stump and swing across the vines to the other side of the room. Next, all players need to do is go up the nearby stars and through the door, where they will find the chest containing the dungeon map.

Completing the Skyview Temple and defeating the final miniboss Stalfos will grant the players the Beetle – an extremely useful item for exploring the world in the rest of the game. While the first temple is the easiest of all, finding any temple’s map can be confusing without any direction. Hopefully, this guide serves as a starting point to help players sail through the first temple.
