Skyrim is a timeless classic and can compete with most RPGs today. This game is truly breathtaking, and one of the few titles that could be rightfully called "game of the century." Despite its flaws, like the weird dialogue or stealth mechanics, it never fails to amaze and still pulls in more fans than most modern titles.

It remains the most modded game of all time, and there are some fans who take modding to the next level. The real question is: are you hard drives enough to install them all?

Start A New Life (Alternate Start - Live Another Life)

The Alternate Start mod gives players the option to choose their own "persona" and each "persona" introduces unique abilities much like the original's character creation screen except that the time-consuming intro has been deleted. Unlike the original sequence, players spawn inside a jail cell and the first quest requires the player to choose among 16 different characters: a Guild Member, or an illegal immigrant, or a rich inn owner for example. This will dictate the skills and amount of money players have at spawn (a necromancer might have advanced knowledge and higher magicka levels, while a prisoner might start with nothing). Alternate Life offers endless replayability and the custom fully-voiced dialogues are a nice bonus.

Have A Dance Party (Shake It Mod)

Skyrim has gone crazy with this updated mod: Shake It Some More. The mod features over 20 animations, even NSFW ones for the curious. This mod is useful when creating Taylor Swift parodies or even short films, but is also worth installing just for the novelty factor. It can be a bit troublesome to install however, and only stable for Skyrim Special Edition owners. It comes with a free music pack and skins too. For those with technical knowledge, the possibilities are endless with 3DS Max or Blender support.

Hopefully, Skyrim dance awards will be a thing soon.

..Or A Large-Scale Battle (Warzones)

War, war never changes. Not even in Skyrim. This mod turns Skyrim into a battlefield, something like Totally Accurate Battle Simulator but the player gets to choose a faction and equip their bases with siege cannons and landmines, all while protecting them from other factions and crazy "fanatic" citizens.

Expand The World And Campaign (Helgen Reborn)

If the Skyrim campaign isn't enough, this mod adds 6 more hours of gameplay featuring fully voiced dialogues and new factions and characters. A unique pit fighting quest is also part of the dynamic storyline that was praised by the whole community with some diehard fans calling the mod "better than vanilla." As players progress, they can eventually buy a home in the town and own a set of unique armors and weapons.

In the original storyline, Helgen was left in ruins by Alduin but the mod team managed to resurrect and reinvigorate the town.

Summon A Giant Tornado (Apocalypse - Magic of Skyrim)

In order to survive the harsh environment of Skyrim, one can't simply rely on bows or maces or shouts. Apocalypse adds 155 more spells in players' arsenals including meteor showers and volcanic eruptions that could make even the Greybeards cower in fear.

Try To Survive Skyrim With Realistic Mechanics (Realistic Needs And Diseases Mod)

Skyrim Life Simulator probably won't appeal to everyone. This mod requires a high degree of dedication. It is so realistic, even the lack of sleep can kill players midquest. Leaving food long enough in the inventory can spoil it. Even water needs to be purified or symptoms will randomly appear later in the run.

Battle An Endless Wave Of New Dragons (Diverse Dragons Collection)

28 NEW types of dragons can spawn anytime, anywhere which means a few dozen of new abilities and weaknesses to conquer. Fortunately, before setup players can choose and customize which dragons can appear midgame and there is also a dragon skin editor if aesthetic realism is your flair.

Post Highlights With Cinematic Kill Camera (VioLens Kill Move Mod)

Not even Ubisoft can top this with their current engine. VioLens replaces the clunky vanilla kill moves with a sweet gorefest. Decapitations can be customized in order for them to happen often. Kill move triggers can be altered so players wouldn't need to wait for that rare chance of seeing it.

Weird Companions (A Cat's Life)

In Skyrim, a good companion can mean life or death during a boss battle or dungeon exploration and it seems like cats are a little more OP than expected. Installing this mod can give players a chance to adopt cats and even attain a weird perk called "Crazy Cat Person." The Dragonborn, or Felineborn perhaps, can then travel to major cities to collect cats (also ferals but that is trickier).

Begin Your Reign Of Terror As King Of Skyrim (Become High King Of Skyrim Mod)

With this mod, players get to abuse their political power to rebuild Skyrim and enslave its citizens. As the High King, the possibilities are endless. Some official ticking you off? Just arrange for their public execution. Feel like you're lacking soldiers? Just take some random kids from Solitude and train them for battle. Players have gone as far as turning their castles into, well, an adult playground. Dragons can also be captured and stored in the castles. Players can appreciate Skyrim in all its glory with this mod. It's time to end the civil war and show them who's boss.
