A dedicated Skyrim fan has recreated the game's heavy Daedric Armor in real life, reimagining the set in such astonishing detail that commenters have mistaken it for a game mod or screenshot. The creator has given a taste of their incredible work on Instagram, amassing thousands of likes from other fans with their incredibly realistic Skyrim cosplay.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is one of the most recognized and beloved games in the world, and despite now being a decade old, rereleases of the Bethesda classic have kept it in the cultural zeitgeist despite the launch of new hardware. Skyrim's huge open world, packed with quests, stories, enemies, and discoverables, have made it a firm favorite for cosplayers and creators looking to introduce some Elder Scrolls fantasy into the real world. From terrifying bosses and enemies to recreations of Skyrim's most famous scenes, artists have been inspired by the game ever since it first released, and with Skyrim's 10th anniversary coming this November, there's never been a better time to be Skyrim cosplayer.
Instagram's talon_revan_cosplay has shared a look at their wonderfully deadly Skyrim Daedlic Armor set while revealing just how they brought it to life. According to the creator, the cosplay armor is a combination of 3D-printed and foam parts, with 3D parts printed from a Do3D file, and foam versions made by talon_revan_cosplay themselves. The completed look took over a year to finish, but its attention to detail and realism seem to have been worth the effort. The cosplay, captured by photographer spiegelland.photography, looks so true to Skyrim that multiple commenters have mistaken the image for the actual game. Instagrammer __j.w.h__ responded to the post writing: "This looks so great I genuinely was gonna ask what mod this was to put in my game. Little disappointed tbh," while decalibrator praised the look saying: "This looks unreal. Like I thought this was a rendered image or screenshot in-game."
