The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s Creation Club, a storefront for additional downloadable content from Bethesda and outside developers, is currently host to 48 creations. There are 26 more on the way for Skyrim Anniversary Edition, which will include all 74 creations for free, but the 48 now available must be purchased. Some of these mod-style add-ons aren't quite worth the price, but many Creation Club downloads include a substantial amount of new content.
While most of the weapon mods available in the Skyrim Creation Club are interesting, several have effects most players won't have much practical use for. Ruin Edge, for example, adds a unique-looking bow that has a chance to cast effects like Paralysis, Silence, Demoralize and Frenzy. The Expanded Crossbow Pack adds a crossbow for each weapon material, and Sunder & Wraithguard adds a unique Dwemer hammer and gauntlet. These each have their uses, but players should only purchase them if they happen to fit their desired builds.
Other creations won't add much for nearly any player. The Plague of the Dead adds zombies to the game, but they have little impact on gameplay after the mod's main quest it completed. Arcane Accessories adds new spells and some clothing items for Skyrim mage playstyles, but unofficial mods like Phenderix Magic Evolved do the same thing with even more spells at no cost. Other mods not worth buying are those that add unique creature followers; some players may love them, but many will find them less useful than other creations. Fortunately, the Creation Club houses many more universally enjoyable mods.
Skyrim Creation Club's Forgotten Seasons: Unique Mount, Helmet & Dungeon
One of the best mods in the Skyrim Creation Club is Forgotten Seasons. It adds an extensive Dwemer dungeon, unique armor pieces, and even a mechanical Dwemer horse. The dungeon is based around the four seasons, with each section having a look based on its respective season. Along with the dungeon comes the Dwarven Crown helmet, which can have one of three masks placed into it, each also based on a season and with a special enchantment. The mod also includes a Dwarven chest piece with a special enchantment to resist magic and poison.
Skyrim Creation Club's Saints & Seducers: New Weapons, Armors, & Materials
The Saints & Seducers creation adds multiple quests, a plethora of armor and weapons, and new creatures to Skyrim. These additions include four new armor sets - Golden, Dark, Amber, and Madness - two of which are crafted with brand-new crafting materials. There are also 34 new weapons, one for each weapon type, that match the new armor sets. Two of the 34 are unique, found by completing various questlines. As a bonus for purchasing this mod, players also receive the Rare Curios creation, which adds new potion ingredients and more.
Skyrim Creation Club's Arcane Archer Pack: New Magic Arrows
The Arcane Archer Pack has a lot of value for Skyrim's ranged combat builds. It adds Fire arrows, Ice arrows, Lighting arrows, Telekinesis arrows, Soul Stealer arrows, and Bone arrows. Fire, Ice, and Lightning arrows explode on impact to deal area-of-effect damage, Soul Stealer arrows can fill soul gems, and Bone arrows, while not magical, have a unique look and damage akin to Dragonbone arrows. Telekinesis arrows are quite unique in that, when fired, they hover in the air until released by a spell, allowing players to kill multiple targets at once, if planned correctly.
Skyrim Creation Club's Survival Bundle: Game-Changing New Mechanics
The Survival Bundle is a great Skyrim add-on that can give playthroughs some refreshing realism. It includes the Survival Mode, Camping, and Adventurer's Backpack creations, each of which can be purchased separately but pair together nicely. Survival Mode adds Hunger, Fatigue, Cold, and Warmth to be managed. Players will need to eat food more often, sleep to reset their fatigue, and wear certain armor to counteract the cold. When players enter cold water, they begin to lose health and must dry off with a heat source, which is where the Camping mod comes into play. Buildable campsites allow players to warm themselves, sleep anywhere they’d like, and cook food to stave off hunger. Adventurer’s Backpack's titular bags can also counteract the decreased carry weight of Survival Mode.
Skyrim Creation Club's Elianora Bundle: Several Beautiful Player Homes
The Elianora Home Bundle contains three player houses created by community modder Elianora. Those who don't want to build their own house in Skyrim can instead move into the impressive Tundra Homestead, Myrwatch, or Shadowfoot Sanctum homes (all of which can be purchased by themselves, too). The Tundra Homestead is outside of Whiterun, Myrwatch is between Morthal and Solitude, and the Shadowfoot Sanctum is in the Riften Ratways.
Skyrim Creation Club's Alternate Armor Sets: Unique New Looks
Many of Skyrim's Creation Club mods are armor sets. Some are brand-new sets, while others are alternate versions of pre-existing armors. The latter include Daedric Mail, Dragonscale, Dwarven Mail, Ebony Plate, Elven Hunter, Stalhrim Fur, and Steel Soldier. Bespoke, unique armor sets include Spell Knight Armor, Divine Crusader, Lord's Mail, Civil War Champions, Vigil Enforcer Armor Set, and Netch Leather Armor.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim’s Creation Club has a fair amount of content on offer for decent prices. On several platforms, users can also install normal mods on top of Creation Club add-ons, some of which even improve the Creation Club mods themselves. And with Skyrim Anniversary Edition including every Creation Club mod, experiencing all of the creations will soon become much cheaper.
