During a playthrough of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, one user discovered that Argonians still have a little life left in them even after death. Skyrim's Argonian race counts among the many possible player character options; it's long remained a fan-favorite, too. This particular race is especially popular for users who prefer stealth-based character builds. After all, an Argonian stealth archer can prove quite formidable thanks to the +5 sneak bonus.
For the umpteenth time in its 10-plus year history, Skyrim has returned to the spotlight following the release of an all-new edition. The new version in question, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition, launched on November 11, 2021, 10 years to the date of its original 2011 rollout on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Notably, the latest iteration of the seminal RPG bundles Skyrim Special Edition with a vast suite of Creation Club content. Enhanced graphics, improved loading times, and new additions such as fishing also fill out the recent release, but players have found that some aspects of the experience will simply never change.
Recently, Reddit user NRKY18 shared a brief clip of what happens to Argonian bodies after they've left the land of the living for that of the dead. The video shows an Argonian lying face down, long dead, and completely still - sans its continuously moving tail. It's a creepy sight as the tail flutters from side to side, and even up and down in a few frames. Check it out in the video linked below:
This could simply count as another in a long list of Skyrim glitches, but maybe Bethesda Game Studios developers left this particular detail in on purpose. As many may be well aware, the bodies of reptiles still move and twitch after death. Who's to say the same shouldn't apply to the Argonian race in Elder Scrolls?
Bethesda Softworks published The Elder Scrolls V a little over a decade ago in November 2011. An instant classic upon release, the open-world title raised the bar for western RPGs in many respects. As a result, a wide variety of video games continue to draw inspiration from its inventive design. Now the wait is on for The Elder Scrolls VI, which Bethesda announced during E3 2018. Since it presently remains in the design phase of development, reason suggests the Skyrim follow-up won't see the light of day for several more years.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is available to play across Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
