The first movie poster and key art for Vertical Entertainment's Skylines has been revealed, exclusively on screenrant.com. The third film in the Skyline film series is coming to theaters and digital next week, on December 18. The movie debuted at FrightFest in October.

The alien invasion is a science fiction staple. Whether it be an all-out attack with ships, or a quieter infiltration, it's never too long in cinema before humans are defending themselves from extraterrestrials. One notable film set during an alien invasion is 2010's Skyline. The original trailer was certainly memorable due to the iconic visual of an alien ship sucking up multitudes of people. The story began with a group of adults having a party, only to wake up to mysterious blue lights hypnotizing people. Soon, chaos ensues as different alien creatures hunt down the protagonists. The film made back over triple its budget, but received negative critic reviews.

A sequel, Beyond Skyline, was released in 2017. Unlike its predecessor, Beyond Skyline received much more positive critical reception and its story featured one big lore development: the ability to free the hypnotized individuals. Skylines will conclude the trilogy before the year comes to a close. Today, we teamed up with Vertical Entertainment to debut the key art for Skylines. The visual features the series' signature color scheme. On it is an alien, with returning character Rose (Lindsey Morgan) front and center. The tagline for the film is "Vengeance is on the horizon." Check out the art below, followed by the film's trailer.

Skylines Movie Exclusive Poster Art, debuted by Screen Rant

Skylines stars Lindsey Morgan, reprising her role as Captain Rose from Beyond Skyline. Morgan steps up as the lead star in the third film after only appearing at the end of Beyond Skyline. Fans will recognize the actress for her role as Raven Reyes in The CW's The 100. The trailer for Skylines highlights a climatic conflict on the alien planet.

The Skyline movies have their fans, and it's not hard to see why. While the first film suffered in the writing department, the alien designs had a unique look to them. The ending scene was interesting enough to entice viewers to return, and it succeeded. Beyond Skyline featured a better story, expanding on its predecessor. Implementing more of an action approach to the story also worked in its favor. The writing was also improved. Skylines will be available for mass viewing on December 18 in theaters, digital and on demand. Fans will get to see how the saga against the aliens comes to a close.
