Skippy is one of the most iconic guns in Cyberpunk 2077, but there is another weapon that could be better than it. A talking gun that previously belonged to Regina Jones, Skippy was obtained by V from a techie named "Danish". Many players have grown fond of Skippy due to the various interesting and funny comments that it offers when used in combat. The weapon’s AI even hums a song titled Disturbia when running a system diagnostic during the first encounter with V.
Skippy is an iconic version of the HJKE-11 Yukimura, a smart pistol manufactured by the Arasaka Megacorporation. The gun is quite handy since it has a feature that allows players to perform auto-headshots. In order to unlock Skippy in Cyberpunk 2077, V must visit the southern end of Vista Del Rey in the Heywood district where players can find the body of a man and an open briefcase containing Skippy in an alleyway. Although Skippy is a useful and unique weapon, the tricky mode options and its request to be returned to Regina could become annoying. Thankfully, players can obtain a better gun in Cyberpunk 2077.
Genjiroh Is Better Than Skippy In Cyberpunk 2077
Like Skippy, Genjiroh is also an iconic variant of the Arasaka HJKE-11 Yukimura, but the firearm looks brand new with its golden barrel and lack of scratches. The weapon can be obtained in the Arasaka Estate and behind a closed door on floor 21 in the “Play It Safe” mission. Genjiroh has a modifier that allows it to fire four projectiles per shot, making it quite lethal. If V is equipped with the Smart Link Cyberware in Cyberpunk 2077, players can target up to six enemies at the same time and Genjiroh’s bullets can even deal extra Electrical damage with a chance to apply the Shock status effect.
Genjiroh Beats Skippy In Ease Of Use In Cyberpunk 2077
Genjiroh is better than Skippy since players do not have to deal with the mode options. When V first encounters Skippy, the gun will ask if players prefer Puppy-Loving Pacifist or Stone Cold Killer. This is actually a trick question because if fans pick the Stone Cold Killer and kill 50 people, Skippy will permanently switch to Puppy-Loving Pacifist. Skippy also asks V to give itself to Regina; if players refuse, the AI will scream "bad user" and "no" until it is returned. Genjiroh does not cause such issues and allows V to use it without complaint in Cyberpunk 2077.
Although Genjiroh is one of the best Smart Weapons in Cyberpunk 2077, some players could still prefer Skippy due to its memorable and snarky conversations, which make it feel more like a friend than a gun. Skippy sometimes even dishes out provocative words to opponents and thanks V for reloading. However, if players do not particularly care about having a sentient firearm in Cyberpunk 2077, they could pick up Genjiroh, which can deal massive damage without the hassles that Skippy brings.
