Netflix’s newest makeover show Skin Decision: Before & After debuted this week and for those who love a good glow up, (and a good cry) this show is made for you. Each episode follows different people who’ve struggled with their bodies and are seeking a change. From gunshot victims to mothers needing a reboot, the stories that these patients share are powerful. They even feature Marla Hanson, a famous model from the '80s who made headlines when she was a victim of face slashing. However, the show wouldn’t be nearly as good without the two beauty specialists' compassion and professionalism when handling these patients. Dr. Nazarian and Nurse Jamie meet with each patient and then consult one another about whether the treatment should be surgical, which is Dr. Nazarian practice, or non-surgical, which is Nurse Jamie’s expertise. From there, viewers get to watch the beauty pros work their magic on not only treating the patient’s scarring or problem areas, but also helping them heal from the trauma they’ve experienced along the way. Overall, Dr. Nazarian and Nurse Jamie are a delight to watch, not to mention they both have a killer sense of fashion, and so we’ve decided to learn more about them.
Dr. Nazarian and Nurse Jamie are both experts in their field. Based off of Nazarian’s website she is a board certified plastic surgeon in the Beverly Hills, Los Angeles area. She’s also the founder of Nazarian Plastic Surgery and trained in cosmetic surgery, plastic surgery, reconstructive surgery, hand and burns surgery. She’s a believer of “natural looking outcomes through a patient-centered approach.” Decider also states that Dr. Nazarian has appeared on a few TV shows before Skin Decision. They report that “on TV, Dr. Nazarian appeared in an episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 7. She’s also brought her expertise to segments on The Doctors, Insider, and The Real.” Nurse Jamie is also not new to TV. She in fact is well known in Hollywood for beloved skin products. Bustle reports that she treats a variety of different celebrity clients and that “Kim, Kourtney, and Khloé Kardashian even visited her office in an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” Nurse Jamie’s approach to beauty and skincare is also different from Dr. Nazarian because she performs non-invasive procedures, such as laser and body sculpting treatments. Along with her appearance on KUWTK, Decider says that the aesthetic nurse specialist has appeared on “The Doctors as well as Extra and E! News. She even played a nurse and medical professionals on various soaps (Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives) from 2002 to 2009.”
