Spoilers for She-Hulk: Attorney At Law season finale!

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law introduced a major character from Marvel Comics in its closing moments. Hulk returned from Sakaar with his son, Skaar. While much remains a mystery about this new character, fans curious about Skaar's MCU future have a roadmap thanks to major storylines like World War Hulk.

Skaar plays a critical role in 21st-century Hulk comics as both a hero and a villain. His journey involves cosmic and planetary destruction, as well as major battles among numerous Hulks in the comics, including She-Hulk, promising that his introduction in live-action will have massive consequences in the MCU.

Planet Hulk

Hulk and Caiera embrace on Sakaar in Marvel Comics.

Sakaar emerged from the events in Planet Hulk, among the best Hulk comic book story arcs ever. The Illuminati cast Hulk into space after destroying Las Vegas and crashed on Sakaar. There he met and fell in love with Caiera the Oldstrong, a powerful woman who later gave birth to Skaar.

Caiera served as the Red King's bodyguard on Sakaar and played a key role in guiding Hulk through the gladiatorial process that eventually catapulted them both to power on the alien world.

Caiera The Oldstrong

Caiera The Oldstrong in her bedchamber in Marvel Comics.

Skaar owes a great deal to his mother. While his mother's identity remains a mystery in the MCU for the moment, the comics likely point toward how live-action will address her. Hulk helped lead a rebellion against The Red King, and he won over Caiera in the process. She then married him and bore Skaar, their first child.

Caiera died when the core of the spaceship Hulk arrived at Sakaar in exploded. She used her skill in the Old Power, a Sakaarian mystical force, to use her energy to protect her son. Her death led to significant ramifications for Hulk, Skaar, and the entire Marvel Universe.

The Old Power

Skaar uses the Old Power in Marvel Comics.

Skaar gained the Old Power from his mother, which gives him an extraordinary ability that the MCU likely leverages. He possesses the ability to manipulate the earth in all its forms, including stone and lava. This ancient power also allows him to speak through the ground, meaning he gains knowledge of Sakaar's memory deep into the past.

The Old Power gave Skaar a horrifying capacity to destroy, including nearly demolishing an active nuclear power plant in Ohio when he first landed on Earth.

Alliance With The Red King

Skaar fights cyborgs on Sakaar in Marvel Comics.

Skaar inherited his father's superhuman strength, durability, and fighting prowess, ranking him among the most powerful Hulk versions in Marvel Comics. He used his power to fight for his survival on Sakaar after his mother's death. He eventually allied with The Red King, who his parents deposed.

This alliance alienated many friends and allies, but the Silver Surfer, who fought with the Hulk in the Planet Hulk comics, returned to Sakaar to stop him, and with a terrifying warning.

The Coming Of Galactus

Skaar appears with Silver Surfer in Marvel Comics.

The Silver Surfer, once among Galactus' most powerful heralds, warned Skaar that the cosmic entity intended to consume Sakaar. Rather than use his power to help evacuate the planet, Skaar threatened to destroy the planet. This act showed that Skaar may follow a villainous path in the MCU.

Skaar ultimately delivered Sakaar to Galactus, but things didn't go as planned. His uncontrollable anger proved useless against the ancient cosmic being. Galactus cast him through a wormhole to Earth. The MCU clearly chose a different path for Skaar's journey to Earth in live-action, but some comic connections may remain.

Confronting The Hulk

Hulk confronts Skarr in Marvel Comics.

Skaar's initial meeting with his father plays out very differently in the comics than it does in the MCU. The MCU portrays Hulk arriving back on Earth with his son happily, but the comics pitted them against each other from the start. Skaar proved his incredible power when they fought for the first time after he crashed on Earth.

A winkle in their first encounter concerned the fact the Hulk wasn't really the Hulk. Bruce Banner had been split from the Hulk at this point, leaving the Green Scar. This allowed Skaar to bond with Banner.

Fighting The Intelligencia

Red She-Hulk fights Skaar in Marvel Comics.

She-Hulk: Attorney At Law introduced the Intelligencia or at least a version. Skaar fought the supervillain team, including the Red She-Hulk, in the Fall of the Hulks storyline. This storyline potentially plays out in the MCU as it reveals Red She-Hulk, among She-Hulk's most powerful villains, is actually Betty Ross.

The storyline also reconciled the Hulk and Skaar, whose father-son relationship to that point largely echoed the difficult relationship Bruce Banner had with his father, Brian.

The Dark Avengers

Skaar joins the Dark Avengers in Marvel Comics.

Skaar later joins the Dark Avengers organized by Norman Osborn, the Green Goblin. This team included many villains masquerading as villains, but Skaar's role proved heroic. He later turned on the Dark Avengers, revealing that he had been a double agent all along. With the Thunderbolts forming in the MCU, this could play out on screen.

The Dark Avengers and Thunderbolts share DNA in the comics, with Osborn's Avengers literally taking over the Thunderbolts title in issue #175. Comic book fans know the Thunderbolts evolved from the Masters of Evil, led by Baron Zemo.

World War Hulk

Skaar makes his first appearance in Marvel Comics.

Skarr makes his first appearance in mainstream Marvel Comics in World War Hulk, a major storyline the MCU likely adapts. In the story, Hulk unleashes massive devastation in New York City along with his Warbound when they returned to Earth to seek revenge for Caiera's death. Skaar appears in issue #5 after the cataclysmic event concludes.

The MCU changed major elements from the Planet Hulk and World War Hulk storylines, but the basic ingredients still remain to adapt into a potential movie, which She-Hulk teased in the season finale.

Hiro-Kala

Hiro-Kala uses his powers in Marvel Comics.

Marvel Comics fans know Skaar isn't the only Hulk child from Sakaar. Hulk and Caiera also bore Hiro-Kala. His life played out very differently from his brother's. He possesses equal skill in the Old Power and when Galactus arrived to consume Sakaar, he used that power to give the entity food poisoning.

Hiro-Kala combined the Old Power with the Power Cosmic to make Galactus feel the pain he inflicted on the worlds he consumed. With this power, Hiro-Kala achieved incredible potential that the MCU may harness as it explores the Hulk's family.
