In August 2022, it was revealed that Sister Wives stars Kody and Robyn Brown started their own company, and the reason may be to protect their assets. The famous family starts breaking apart at the end of Sister Wives season 17. Between Christine Brown walking away and the divorce between him and several of his wives, Kody may be trying to look out for himself and protect him against any unforeseen circumstances.

Thanks to his tendency to control his polygamous family, Sister Wives' Kody Brown has made himself a controversial figure on more than one occasion. Scandal-prone Kody once shared his love for his four wives (and polygamy) openly. However, over the years, he has fallen out of love with some of his spouses and with plural marriage, in general, leading to several divorces among the Sister Wives stars. Now, with some new business plans, it looks like Kody may be trying to make sure he is set up for a bright financial future.

The Sister Wives Stars Launched An Entertainment Venture

In 2022, The Sun reported that Robyn and Kody started their own company, Dabsark Entertainment, LLC. Janelle and Meri Brown weren't listed as members, which now makes sense since both Janelle and Meri announced their separation from Kody in late 2022. Kody and Robyn, who have a unique relationship, may have launched Dabsark to gain tax advantages. Companies and LLCs are often set up to reduce self-employment tax and protect a person's assets. With 18 children and Kody's multiple ex-wives, this seems like a logical way to make sure that there is still money that stays with them.

Sister Wives' Kody Had A Previous Business

Kody had another LLC years ago, Kody Brown Family Entertainment, LLC, which was set up in Nevada. The LLC is still active and lists Kody, Robyn, Meri, Janelle, and Christine Brown as members via Open Corporates. Dabsark Entertainment, LLC could be a new entity for the family that remains. As reported by Trulia, the new company is registered at 9200 Coyote Pass, the Sister Wives' infamous piece of land, which features a rather large and luxurious cabin. Quite possibly, Kody may plan on renting out this property. In the real estate milieu, it is very common for people who own more than one home to create separate business entities.

The two LLCs aren't the only business venture that Kody and Robyn have undertaken. Robyn ran My Sister Wife's Closet, along with the other wives, which was an online jewelry and clothing boutique. However, the official My Sister Wife's Closet Instagram page has not been updated since March 2019, and recent comments from fans are urging Robyn to find another way to financially support herself. It's concerning that Robyn's main business ventures seem to be tied up with Kody, as any falling out between the two might leave Robyn unable to pay her bills.

While naming Dabsark Entertainment, LLC after their children tells a story about Kody and Robyn's marital status, the new company may not be a snub. Instead, it may be a legal way to protect his assets and earnings. While the new business may simply be a clever way for Sister Wives star Kody to separate the family members' salaries by creating standalone companies, it could also mean that he is more than ready to live with his favorite wife, Robyn.
