Christine Brown had to put up with a lot when it came to her marriage to Kody Brown, which included an uncomfortable Sister Wives scene that had to do with nachos. The patriarch has offended each of his four wives at different points throughout their relationship, with fans wondering why do the women stay. One particular outburst came over what was supposed to be a nice dinner out together, but it turned into the inquisition.
It is fair to say that Kody has never been extremely popular when it comes to fans' opinions of him. Between his four wives, Meri, Janelle, Christine, and Robyn, he often spoils the latter with his time, leaving the others to fend for themselves. Over the last few seasons, it has come to fans' attention that Kody has become indifferent to his first three wives, including Christine. In the beginning, the two seemed to be attached at the hip, but the mother of six always wanted more time than Kody could give. As the years went on, Kody hurt Christine over and over again by putting her last. Kody has had no problem putting each wife in their place, but fans believe his abrasive behavior has come at a cost.
One of the most infamous scenes in Sister Wives' history has to be the "Nacho" scene. It all started after Kody's family memoir revealed his he truly felt about his wife gorging on the popular appetizer. The patriarch wrote that while he was dating Christine, there was a moment he almost second-guessed his courtship, all because of how she munched on a chip. During a recent episode, the memory came flooding back to Christine after she revealed to cameras that her and Kody's marriage was over. She pointed back to the nacho scene as a sign of their disconnect since, at the time, Kody stated he wasn't attracted to her. Kody told his wife at the time that he found her unattractive, and his statement had an ever-lasting effect on Christine.
In the family's memoir Becoming Sister Wives, Kody openly revealed how grossed out he was by her ability to down a nacho platter. The couple had embarked on a road trip together, with Kody noting that he thought Christine was the "cutest" girl in the world even though she was a "little chubby." While Kody does note that he was young and cared about the superficial appearance too much, fans couldn't help but be disgusted. Kody wrote, "Christine went into the Quickie Mart and bought herself what seemed like the largest portion of chili cheese nachos that I'd ever seen. I had at that moment, but the sight of this chubby girl in my car devouring chili cheese nachos for breakfast put the brakes on our relationship."
Kody admitted that his attraction for her cooled a lot, and the memory has stuck with Christine all these years. Sadly, according to Christine, she had no idea she had grossed out her future husband. This past November, Christine announced she was leaving Kody after 25 years of marriage. Obviously, the two had underlying issues, but the nacho scene put their failing relationship in perspective enough for her to gain the courage to walk away.
