The Sister Wives star Christine Brown recently shared that she felt she had to fake happiness while she was married to Kody Brown. The third wife of the patriarch had not denied being unfulfilled when it came to her own love life. For years, she followed Kody along on his adventures, but finally, she decided to make a decision that was for her benefit alone.
The marital turbulence between Christine and Kody Brown has not been pretty. Fans were first introduced to Sister Wives in 2010, and they quickly learned that plural marriage wasn't so easy. For years, the Brown family has had to deal with the falling out that came with being a part of the polygamist lifestyle. Christine seemed to get the short end of the stick, as she once told cameras that she believed she was Kody's last wife. Instead, she found herself pregnant with Kody's 13th child while he was busy tying the knot with his fourth wife, Robyn Brown. Now, 16 seasons on, Christine has had more than her fair share of disappointments, and she's decided to call it quits with Kody. She's hoping for a better life in Utah.
Sister Wives fans have been getting tiny glimpses of Christine and Kody's marriage on the newest season of the hit show, but their union was troubled long before they announced their split. During Sunday's all-new episode, Kody tried his best to convince his third wife that Flagstaff was the best option for the entire family, especially since they had bought the Coyote Pass land. Christine pulled at viewers' heartstrings when she told cameras that she had no desire to stay and watch Kody in a fully functioning marriage. She said, "do I want that? No. The best I can give today is just to pretend."
The mother of six broke down, insisting that she didn't believe a word that was coming out of Kody's mouth. It was very clear that she found it hard to trust him. Christine revealed that the two weren't even friends, let alone lovers. Fans could tell that their relationship was on the rocks. It was obvious that Christine had checked out of the marriage, and many viewers believed that Kody was waiting for her to make the final leap.
Fans also watched as Kody refused to go to New Jersey for their daughter's back surgery. While it was important for Ysabel Brown that Kody attended, Christine was more than happy to take the month away from her husband. Kody and Christine announced their separation in November, via social media. Both stated that they would work together to be the best parents to their children. A lot of Sister Wives fans believe that Christine made the right decision when she left, and they think that she deserves to be happy.
