Sister Wives fans were shocked to learn that Meri Brown felt betrayed by Christine leaving the plural family. Viewers didn't think that Meri cared too much about befriending the patriarch's other wives as she often kept to herself. But during the reunion tell-all, Meri opened up a whole can of worms.

Even though Meri was the first wife of Kody, the mother of one never seemed to get the respect she believed she deserved. As the first wife in a Mormon relationship, it was believed that Meri should have been held on a higher pedestal with Kody. However, after going on to marry three more women, it became clear Meri was no longer in Kody's favor. Over the years, she stuck by the father of 18's side, all while harboring ill will towards Christine.

Meri Speaks Out Against Christine

Sister Wives viewers learned via the reunion tell-all that Meri felt "betrayed" by Christine and her departure. Meri went as far as to mock Christine's original TLC promo, noting that the mother of six had always claimed she didn't just want the man, repeating, "I want the sister wives." Fans were always led to believe that Meri and Christine didn't get along, but Kody's first wife set the record straight, revealing in the past, the two had fun even though their connection was never "super deep." Meri stopped short of owning up to her own faults but noted that she wasn't sure why she and Christine were no longer friends.

Christine Didn't Feel Safe With Meri

Naturally, Christine was also allowed to share her side of the story revealing she was the one who ended the friendship. The move left Meri hurt, but Christine noted that her "treatment of me wasn't nice." Sister Wives viewers learned that while living in Las Vegas, Meri often put Christine down in public situations, and towards the end of their stay, Christine hit a wall with the disrespect. Since then, it has been painfully obvious that the two have kept their distance, with Meri working at Lizzie's Heritage Inn and Christine moving back to Utah.

One of Kody's biggest grievances with his wives is how little each one of them has tried to get along with others. During the recent Sister Wives episode, most of his anger was aimed at Christine as he accused her of being rude to Robyn. But there is a clear pattern within all the women. Fans often questioned how four women could be best friends married to the same man and not have jealous tendencies. It is clear from Meri's feelings that the goal was not achievable.
