For years, viewers of Sister Wives have been urging Meri Brown to leave Kody Brown. While she could gain a whole new life, she could also lose a lot. The first wife of Kody has stayed by the patriarch's side even after he pushed her away. The mother of one is trying to salvage what is left of their broken relationship, but Kody wants none of it.
If Meri ever decided to leave the large polygamous family, she could gain a whole new sense of freedom. Kody's first wife currently lives alone and travels back and forth between Flagstaff and her B&B, Lizzie's Heritage Inn. Kody no longer visits or stays in her home, and Meri is living as if she is already single anyway. In recent months the Sister Wives star has been venturing out with friends and taking solo road trips. If Meri ever left, she would, most importantly, be financially independent of the family and free to make her own decisions.
What Would Meri Brown Lose If She Left Kody?
There doesn't seem to be a lot that Meri would lose if she ever decided to leave Kody for good. As Sister Wives fans know, she and Kody are no longer intimate, so it is not as if she is giving up physical contact. Meri would most likely lose access to the family, at least the ones who speak with her. Meri would also lose access to the family's food storage and wouldn't be on the same planet as Kody when they died. Meri would also have to decide whether or not she would want to keep any part of Coyote Pass or sell her share back to the family as Christine Brown did.
Since Christine chose to leave the family, Sister Wives viewers have been waiting for the penny to drop with another wife. For years, Meri has been neglected and pushed to the side. It didn't help that she got caught tangled in a catfishing affair scandal in 2015. The betrayal totally turned off Kody, who has already admitted he doesn't consider himself married to Meri.
The newest season of Sister Wives is showing Robyn Brown pleading with Meri to stay and rebuild the family. Viewers don't feel this would be in Meri's best interest as she is just being used at this point for her finances. Kody once again stated he would never feel emotionally safe trusting Meri or starting up their relationship again. With fans already questioning why she stays, Meri has a big choice to make in the near future.
