The Sister Wives star Kody Brown was hit with backlash after calling his wives "princesses" during the premiere episode. Ever since he married Robyn Brown, fans' views of the patriarch have gone downhill, mostly due to Kody's bitterness. From choosing a clear favorite to not visiting certain wives, viewers just don't believe that Kody has the right to snarkily call out any of his partners.

After almost ten years on TV, Kody is starting to lose his popularity. Viewers first met the Browns when they were living in Utah as polygamist Mormons. After marrying his fourth and youngest wife, Robyn, Kody and his family fled the state to avoid prosecution. Since then, most Sister Wives fans agree that Kody put his first three wives aside in order to focus on Robyn. Kody always insisted that he tried his best to keep each wife happy, but the recent seasons have told a different story. Now, the patriarch is at his wit's end and has even resorted to speaking candidly about his marriages. As most fans know, Christine Brown recently left him.

During the Sister Wives season 16 premiere, viewers could tell that Kody wasn't happy with his relationships with his four wives. It didn't seem like Meri Brown, Christine, Janelle Brown, or Robyn were happy, either. Not only was Christine adamant about not living in Arizona, but the other wives considered staging a mutiny if Kody decided to move to Utah. During a candid moment, a seriously annoyed Kody ended up calling Janelle and Christine "two princesses giving ultimatums." The comment did not go down well, as viewers felt he was being hypocritical.

During the episode, Kody was trying to diplomatically check in with each wife about a possible move. When Janelle bluntly told her husband that she would stay behind, the patriarch started to get hot under the collar. Kody, who's been accused of giving up on plural marriage, was clearly irritated. He told cameras, "Ultimately, what's happening in my life now as this unfolds, is two princesses giving ultimatums." He also mentioned that it was not the first time one of his wives had threatened to leave him in order to get her own way.

The irony of Kody using the word "princesses" was not lost on viewers, as he often tries to get his own way. The husband of four also dropped a bomb by letting the wives know that he wanted his own plot of land on Coyote Pass. While it is easy to understand why Kody may have been upset, plenty of Sister Wives fans found his choice of words almost comical, and they think he needs to take a good look at himself.
