Kody Brown is known for having issues with his family finances on Sister Wives, and new reports coming to the surface allege that he might have really big tax debt problems. Kody and his fourth wife Robyn Brown have wrestled to make a suitable home for their unconventionally large family, and it appears that the pair might have gone into debt attempting to do so. From their Arizona plot plans to the details about the end of the money they owe in taxes, here's everything there is to know about Kody and Robyn's debt.

The Brown family has been under more scrutiny than normal recently due to the upcoming Sister Wives season 16. In a trailer for the highly-anticipated season, all facets of this plural family are up in the air. Most pronounced is the demise of Kody's relationship with his third wife, Christine Brown. They have been spiritually married since 1994, but the season 16 sneak peek indicated that Kody and Christine's relationship has been on a downward spiral. A frustrated Christine exposed many of the Brown family's issues, from her desire to leave Kody's Coyote Pass land for Utah to the worst-kept secret that Kody's marriage to Robyn is the only functional relationship between the five Sister Wives cast members.

All of Christine's dilemmas come to a head in a new report that Kody and Robyn are allegedly dealing with tax debt problems. On October 20, The Sun reported that the Sister Wives duo was in deep financial troubles directly related to the family's housing controversies. Kody has been set on his family settling in his Coyote Pass plot of land, despite Christine's resistance. According to Arizona court documents, Kody and his only legal wife, Robyn, "have delinquent taxes in the amount of $2,056.89." For fans not savvy to financial drama, delinquent taxes are taxes that haven't been paid to the IRS by a deadline. The sum of tax debt the Browns face is the result of the "interest on two acres of land next to their $890,000 home." If Kody and Robyn don't pay these tax debts, they could possibly lose their property.

In addition to the $2,000 payment that Kody and Robyn have yet to take care of, they also owe more money for their luxurious home. According to The Sun's recollection of the Brown family's financial woes, Kody and Robyn "owe $5,283.76 on their five-bedroom, four-bathroom house." The $5,000 isn't a part of the Sister Wives stars' delinquent taxes because Kody and Robyn still have until December 31 to pay the taxes on their house. While neither of these debts is insurmountable for the reality stars to pay, Kody and his wives have struggled to maintain a steady income for years. Alas, his sister wives have started their own businesses to make more money on the side, such as Janelle's short-lived real estate effort to Christine and Meri's LuLaRoe businesses. Thus, Kody might have to rely on his wives' income to pay these taxes.

After so many financial struggles, it's not shocking that Kody hasn't overcome all of his financial problems. Despite thousands of dollars in debt and pleads from Christine to move back to Utah, Kody is dead-set on moving his family to Arizona. Hopefully, Kody can gather the money he needs to pay off his taxes before his family leaves his Arizona property on Sister Wives season 16.
