Kody Brown of Sister Wives is at his wits' end with most of his spouses, as he recently revealed that he wouldn't break his back to help out Janelle on Coyote Pass. The bitterness on Kody's end has been building up for months, especially after Christine chose to leave their marriage. Now, the cynicism is taking over and causing Kody to act erratically.
During a recent episode of Sister Wives, viewers saw an even more selfish side of Kody than usual. While speaking to Janelle about possibly buying Christine's Arizona home, the couple exchanged a few heated words, with Janelle stating she wants her "own house." This led Kody to be brutally honest in his confessional, telling cameras that "men don't love people who don't respect them." He went on to say, "I'm not going to break my back when you don't respect me." It was clear Kody couldn't see the bigger picture past himself being hurt and betrayed. Naturally, Sister Wives viewers took to Reddit to share their anger with the patriarch and his overblown reaction.
Kody Brown Makes His Own Rules
The entire outburst felt extremely demeaning and sexist on Kody's part. Reddit user Quirky_Cry9828 noted the "anger" on Janelle's face during the obtuse discussion. One commenter pointed out that Janelle has little to no access to the family money even though she is the wife who worked and contributed financially to keep the Brown family afloat. The thread participant said, "The disrespect of not allowing her identical privileges to Robyn is infuriating."
Sister Wives viewers can't help but feel that Kody is trying to find an out for his relationship with Janelle, noting he will now probably withhold love because Janelle didn't want to do exactly as he said. Kody came across as hypocritical for wanting to buy the home since the scene before showed him telling TLC cameras that he never wanted to drive past Christine's old house again. It looks like Kody is trying to put Janelle in a corner by harboring all the financial and emotional power. However, Janelle is not falling for it.
This is not the first time Kody has spoken ignorantly, and it won't be the last. Sister Wives fans are getting extremely tired of seeing Kody try and place the blame for his failings on others. Even though he tries to garner respect, he has never shown his wives, except for Robyn, that same courtesy. Kody is desperately trying to hold on to the head of the household position but is about to be overthrown, thanks to his callous comments.
