Kody Brown from Sister Wives is often rude and insulting to his four wives. His insults have gotten so bad that more and more fans are rooting for his wives to divorce him. Meri and Christine seem to bear the brunt of his rude remarks, and they are the two wives most fans really hope will leave Kody behind and pursue their own happiness. Fans have heard him say insulting things on camera, but there are also behind-the-scenes moments where Kody had disparaging things to say about each of his wives.
Kody Brown recently stated he feels like he's in "polygamy Hell." Each season, his relationships with his wives seem to break down more and more, and now they're at the point where he's questioning polygamy itself. Fans who have trouble comprehending the lifestyle really feel the wives and Kody would all be happier in monogamous relationships. The last episodes of the latest season solidified these thoughts, as Kody butted heads with his wives over their different approaches to staying safe during COVID-19. Once again, Kody was rude to his wives, telling them he didn't "give a sh-t" about their attempts to communicate.
Christine has been insulted by Kody both on and off-screen. In their book, Becoming Sister Wives, Kody wrote that when he met Christine, he thought she was "a little chubby." He continued to say that watching her eat a plate of nachos on their honeymoon "turned my stomach." In an interview about the book, he rudely admitted, "I will be honest, I was not attracted to Christine in any kind of physical sense." He went on to agree when Christine said her wedding dress was ugly and added, "I had a thousand-mile stare, and I wasn't engaged in the experience...it was hard." Recently, he continued his poor treatment of Christine by refusing to go to New Jersey with her when her daughter needed back surgery.
Christine must have been hurt by Kody's words over the years, but she's not alone in being insulted. Kody once said his second wife, Janelle, was "lazy" when it came to COVID-19 prevention. He added, "I think Janelle is full of sh*t, and this is why she's full of sh*t. Because the kids aren't seeing each other all the time anyway." Meri has also dealt with Kody's harsh tongue, especially after her emotional affair with a catfish named Sam. Kody harped on the fact that he "does not want to be intimate" with Meri and feels no attraction to her. At this point, fans can tell Meri and Kody barely have a relationship at all.
Even Robyn, who most fans think is Kody's favorite wife, has been insulted by Kody in the past. When Kody described first meeting Robyn in an early Sister Wives Tell-All, he said, "She looked like a soccer mom. She had a van, three kids, and was divorced. I thought, I didn’t need a van, a divorced woman, and three kids in my life — that’s just trouble." It's no wonder Kody is not popular among most Sister Wives fans. For their parts, each of the wives are careful with how they speak about Kody since they care about his feelings – Kody, evidently, does not share that concern.
