For over a year, Sister Wives' Kody Brown has been battling with his two sons, Gabe and Garrison Brown, as the three men have failed to see eye to eye when it came to the COVID-19 pandemic. Janelle Brown was sadly put in the middle for months but finally took her children's side. Kody has been left scratching his head as to what exactly went wrong.
Kody, who forced himself into polygamy, has always prided himself on being a family man, especially within his plural marriages. Kody seemed to juggle the early days of being a father exceptionally well since his first three wives all lived in the same Utah home. However, with the addition of his fourth and favorite wife, Robyn Brown, his ideals and priorities changed. No longer did Kody consider his older children's feelings as he started to hunker down with his younger children. Instead of reasoning with the entire family, Kody started building walls up, hurting his other kids.
Kody Brown's Issues Have Been On Going
The feud began early on in the pandemic when Kody, who split from Meri Brown, tried to have his entire family abide by his strict rules. While Janelle shared they were already following CDC guidelines, this was not enough to satisfy Kody. In January 2021, Gabe Brown shared that he felt he should be able to see his girlfriend and questioned why Kody was forcing him to pick between the two. Garrison also voiced his concerns with his father around the same time. During the Sister Wives season 16 episode, tensions boiled over between father and son after Kody tried to kick his two sons out of Janelle's home.
Kody Brown Seemingly Choose The Younger Kids Over The Older Kids
The fight with Gabe, Garrison, and some of the older Brown children, isn't just about the COVID-19 rules. All the children noticed Kody, whose relationship with Janelle wasn't viable, puts a lot more time and effort into his relationships with Robyn and her children than he does with them. Janelle shared that the kids took note even when living in Las Vegas. In the same Sister Wives season, Christine Brown also revealed that Janelle's children have been very upset with how Kody has treated their mother for years.
During a recent episode of Sister Wives, Gabe finally shared his side of the story, explaining why he decided to cut ties with Kody. On his birthday, the father of 18 called him, but Kody only asked questions about his son's COVID-19 symptoms instead of wishing him a happy birthday. This was the last straw for Gabe, who Janelle is proud of, as he shared his heart could no longer afford to be broken.
