Much like sister wife Meri, Janelle Brown has undergone a truly inspiring weight loss transformation during her time on and off of the hit TLC reality TV show Sister Wives. Hitched to Mormon polygamist Kody Brown in a spiritual union for 28 years, Janelle had more of a business relationship than a romantic bond with her husband before eventually separating from him in 2021.

Two of the biggest factors in Janelle's transformation on the show include her skin cancer diagnosis and Kody's strict COVID-19 quarantine rules, which put a strain on their marriage and led Janelle to begin a new chapter in her life.

Thi image taken from 2011 via Us Magazine marks the beginning of Janelle's physical and spiritual transformation on Sister Wives, one of the all-time weirdest TLC shows. Unofficially married to Kody Brown in 1993, Janelle's growing discomfort in the polyamorous marriage would take a full decade to reach a breaking point.

Noticeable in the photo is a lack of a smile, which may indicate how unhappy Janelle was to be involved in a televised polygamous marriage from the start. Thankfully, she gets happier and healthier over time.

Looking noticeably different just two years later, Janelle begins publicizing her deliberate health improvement routine on social media. She doesn't only look more trim, proving her methods were working, but notice the increased color and the much more prominent smile on her face. She seems much happier and healthier.

Also urging her sister wives to join her in the workout regimen, Janelle begin posting workout videos on YouTube to inspire fans. The mother of six is on a clear mission of self-improvement and will not be stopped.

After 2013, Janelle's role on the controversial TLC reality TV show had noticeably slimmed down. Meanwhile, it was evident how averse and uncomfortable she was to continue participating in the show. When the Browns moved to Utah in 2018, a real question about Janelle's dedication to Kody and the grandchildren was up in the air.

Yet, in a photo she posted to Twitter, Janelle couldn't look happier or healthier as she professes her undying love for Kody with a beaming smile that lights up the frame. Alas, their marriage would hit much rockier terrain just a few short years later.

Sister Wives' Janelle shows cancer photos

It's with no pleasure to report that Janelle was hit with a severe obstacle to her improved health in early 2021. Diagnosed with melanoma, Janelle posted images on Instagram informing her fans that she had to have a tumor removed above her lip. She was 51 years old at the time. Worse yet, the news came just three months after Janelle's mother passed away.

Luckily, Janelle's doctors caught the disease early enough that it did put her in poor health for very long or jeopardize her time on the popular TLC show. Just two months later, Janelle was back on her health kick and ready to put cancer, among many other things, in the distant past. Here's hoping she never faces remission.

Sister Wives' Janelle holds up a glass of Plexus Slim

By May of 2021, Janelle was going full throttle on her healthy lifestyle and workout routines, going so far as to promote Plexus Slim, a health beverage created by her own company Plexus Worldwide. Proud of the way Plexus allows her to lose weight without compromising her favorite meals, Janelle captioned the image via Instagram with "I lost a couple of inches off my gut without changing anything."

Even more than her weight loss, it's Janelle's warm smile that really indicates how fulfilling her new lifestyle trend is, especially in helping others with a product that can increase their health and well-being.

Janelle Brown, Halloween 2021

By Halloween of 2021, Janelle looked great, felt great, and was deeply proud to see her daughter Maddie drink the Plexus "pink drink" as part of her own self-health improvement. Aside from the uplifting words of gratitude and brand promotion, one can see how happy and healthy the two look together. A real treat indeed.

Unfortunately, while Janelle will continue to improve herself on all fronts from here on out, her relationship with Kody begins going downhill as season 16 of Sister Wives begins to air in November of 2021.

Janelle Brown In December 2021

By December of 2021, Janelle was seriously considering leaving Kody just as Christine had. In the end, she made a conscious decision to stay during the season 16 confessional but admitted that Kody's harsh quarantine rules regarding COVID-19 had put a serious damper on their marriage.

Yet at no point was Janelle ever willing to leave her children as seen in the 2021 Christmastime photo with five of her six children. Despite her unhappiness with Kody on the (possibly fake) TLC show, Janelle looks much happier and healthier than she did to begin the series a decade prior.

Janelle Brown In April 2022

In an April 2022 picture that Janelle posted of herself on Instagram, she is now so comfortable in her own skin and her ability to avoid the temptation that she can easily enjoy an otherwise decadent dessert with her adorable granddaughter.

For a recent comparison, Janelle also posted selfies in February and March to track her health improvement, both of which are captioned with motivational words for others in her position, urging them to press on even in their most exhausting hour. As for her time with Kody, it appears Janelle and Kody are no longer compatible as partners and the two may call off their marriage as season 17 of Sister Wives enters production.
