One very talented The Sims 4 player just built an entire Viking town without using Custom Content. The Sims games have an extreme amount of customization while in build mode and crafty players can create some incredible things in-game, like this Sims 4 version of LOTR's Rivendell. Thanks to years of experience and practice, almost anything is possible for some builders.

A lot of these incredible builds are done with the help of Custom Content, or CC. CC are community-created items or appearance changes that are made for extra in-game customization. These include different build mode items and are usually things players find lacking in the base version of the game. A lot of CC usually revolves around the Create-a-Sim system and gives players countless different hairstyles, clothing options, skin details, and skin tones. There are a lot of uses for CC, but some Sims players do not use CC. The use of such items can make it difficult for other players to download builds from the Gallery because the builds do not look the same if the CC is not installed. There is a fair share of DLC in The Sims games that add new build mode items with different themes and styles, and players are able to get creative and build impressive homes and towns that everyone can enjoy.

Reddit user Chaos_and_Cuteness decided to build an impressive Viking town without any CC whatsoever. The village includes a large longhouse for celebrations and feasts, two more medium longhouses for living purposes, and two small single-family homes. There is also a fisherman's house, a boathouse, and a Viking ship built in the water. The insides of the homes are filled with incredible details and it is clear Chaos_and_Cuteness did a lot of research and put a lot of thought and effort into this build. The little touches like the banners on the wall or the food on the tables really help bring this build to life. Chaos and Cuteness also posted a speed build of the village to their YouTube page, so interested fans can take a look at the effort that goes into a construct like this.

Chaos_and_Cuteness not only built this for players of all CC preferences to enjoy, but they also included a list of all of The Sims DLC game packs they used so players know exactly what they might be lacking when downloading this build from the gallery. In the list, they also mention exactly what items are necessary to make the build work properly, and which can be left out if a player does not have a certain pack downloaded. The Sims gallery is notorious for having builds that use every single DLC pack and some players simply cannot afford them all. This is a nice way to allow players to see what exactly is used before they download the village in their own game.

The wonderful creativity of The Sims players is always inspiring to see. Many players enjoy the life and stories aspect of The Sims games, but lack in the building aspect of the game and prefer to download builds like these to amplify their stories. With more builds like this, everyone can enjoy The Sims without having to worry about CC or their in-game building abilities.
