The Sims 4 is a massive game full of little details. This means that the opportunities for customizing how gamers play the title are nearly limitless. They can act out a hyper-realistic life, making a family and friends, or if the player leans towards the fantastical, they can even play as a vampire and have a chat with the grim reaper. These kinds of contrasting gameplay possibilities, plus the sea of content in The Sims 4has made it a wildly successful game played by millions.

Having crazy amounts of content isn't anything new to The Sims series, but The Sims 4 takes things to a completely new level. Along with the digital deluxe edition of the base game there are 34 paid DLCs for The Sims 4 and each of them bring massive amounts of content to the game. Plus, there are gameplay features that don't exist outside of the DLC, like using magic, becoming a vampire, or living a futuristic green lifestyle. Even if one were to ignore The Sims 4's massive modding community, its hard to imagine anyone getting bored with so many possible additions to the game.

The Sims 4' s DLCs are divided up into three major sections: Expansion Packs, Game Packs, and Stuff Packs. Screen Rant has covered the costs of these packs individually before, but the question remains, how much would it cost to buy all of The Sims 4's DLC as of today? Fortunately Electronic Arts has kept the costs of The Sims 4's DLC consistent based on what kind of packs players purchase. The nine different Expansion Packs in The Sims 4 are the most expensive DLCs to purchase, costing $39.99 USD each. Next are the eight Game Packs, which cost a total of $19.99 USD each. Finally, there are the seventeen Stuff Packs, which only cost $9.99 USD each. When users tally up all of these prices, Sims 4 players may end up looking at looks something like this:

What EVERY Sims 4 DLC EVER Costs

  1. Nine Sims 4 Expansion Packs - $359.91 USD / $481.41 CAD
  2. Eight Sims 4 Game Packs - $159.92 USD / $207.92 CAD
  3. Seventeen Sims 4 Stuff Packs - $169.83 USD / $229.33 CAD

For all of The Sims 4's DLC, one would have to pay $689.66 USD (or $918.66 CAD). This is an indisputably large number, but there are some ways to lower it. One is to purchase a bundle alongside the game, which would typically include a DLC expansion. EA Origin lets players make a custom bundle of Sims 4 content, and Steam provides one too, though the Steam version is less customizable. Another way is to wait for sales, as The Sims 4 almost always seems to be doing some kind of sale or deal. Finally, players can purchase from a place that lets them save 10% as an EA member, an example being PlayStation.

The price of buying every single part of The Sims 4 might be intimidating, but don't forget that it's not necessary to own all of the DLC to enjoy the game. Buying just a few of them is a perfectly fine way to play The Sims 4 as well. Some people are even happy playing the game without the DLC, as mods make a fine substitute. Remember that The Sims' DLC is just some of the different ways to play The Sims 4, so if players don't have some of them then they're not necessarily playing a worse version of the game, just a different one.
