The Sims 4 isn't the first game in the franchise to include hidden aspirations, but this time it doesn't have much use. Aspirations decide the long-term goals of a Sim, and they'll affect the short-term wants of Sims. The Sims 4 also includes rewards in the form of perks that can be unlocked only by researching certain levels of an aspiration. Since the hidden aspiration in The Sims 4 shares rewards and perks with another aspiration, it can end up feeling lackluster and not as unique as it could have been.

The Grilled Cheese aspiration isn't available in character creation, making it unknown to some players. It was first introduced in the best mainline The Sims game, The Sims 2, and brought back in a patch for The Sims 4. While the Grilled Cheese aspiration is a fun inclusion, it doesn't have as many uses as other aspirations. Instead, its greatest use is building aspiration points that can then be used for other aspirations after switching away from the Grilled Cheese.

Getting The Grilled Cheese Aspiration In The Sims 4

Unlocking the Grilled Cheese aspiration is rather simple in The Sims 4. If a Sim eats three plates of grilled cheese in a row, the aspiration will become available for them. The Grilled Cheese aspiration has no bonus trait, but completing it will reward Sims with the Melt Master trait, which allows the Sim to summon grilled cheese sandwiches and paint about grilled cheese.

The Sims 4 Could Have Done More With Its Hidden Aspiration

The Sims 4 has multiple expansion packs that could have added the hidden Grilled Cheese aspiration rather than having it included in a patch, and they could have fleshed it out more. Get Famous could have included grilled cheese in fame options, such as allowing Sims to be famous for their love and knowledge of the sandwich. Outdoor Retreat could have been an opportunity to add a fleshed out Grilled Cheese aspiration as well and let the Sims perform tasks such as cooking the sandwiches over a campfire.

Currently, the Grilled Cheese aspiration is considered a Food aspiration, but without its own bonuses, making it useful mostly for gaining aspiration points in general for completing the Sims wants. The Sims 4 added improvements for babies years after the game's release, but some players were hesitant that the changes would be enough, and some might have felt that it was too late to try fixing the feature. For all the features included over the years and in packs, there are still improvements that can be made, even for hidden, joke inclusions, in The Sims 4.
