The Sims 4 has been receiving updates and expansions for years, but there's one reward with an issue from the base game that has yet to be fixed. Aspiration rewards in The Sims 4 can prove highly useful through instantly restoring a need meter or permanently reducing the rate at which a meter decays. As The Sims 4 has received fixes and new content, the developers seem to have missed one Aspiration reward that can be particularly annoying for players: Fear-Be-Gone.

Aspiration rewards have been through a few variations between The Sims 2 and The Sims 4. Gained by fulfilling Sims' wants, the rewards shop has items meant to help players work towards achieving their Sims' Lifetime Aspiration, but not all of them are as useful as they might seem at first glance. Although there are silly features like a hidden Grilled Cheese Aspiration in The Sims 4, there seems to be room for improvement with the rewards to be gained from working toward fulfilling Aspirations.

The Fear System In The Sims 4 Isn't Bad, Just Flawed

Fears can appear as the result of a traumatic event, such as a fire, or seemingly at random in cases like the fear of unfulfilled dreams in The Sims 4. However, fears aren't permanent in the game, and players can get rid of them easily by using Aspiration points in the reward shop. The problem is that the reward used to remove a fear has a one-time use, and it could use an update to improve its effectiveness.

The Fear-Be-Gone Potion Needs A Change As A Sims 4 Reward

Players can use the Fear-Be-Gone Potion and select one fear to remove from their Sim. The Sims 4 needs new updates to become the best game in the series, and one of those updates should improve Fear-Be-Gone so that it not only removes a fear but reduces the likelihood of it returning. In its current state, Sims can regain the fear that Fear-Be-Gone removed almost immediately, which can lead to players using Aspiration points to keep removing the same fear. Therefore, an update to Fear-Be-Gone could ease player frustration with fears in The Sims 4.

The Sims 4 continues to grow and change, but there's still room for improvement across multiple aspects. Many players have criticized the number of Kits released and believe that the focus should be on larger DLC in 2023 for The Sims 4. Sims reacquiring fears shortly after they're removed could be either a feature or a bug, but either way, it might be best for the future of the game to ease this source of frustration with improvements to the Fear-Be-Gone Poition in 2023 for The Sims 4.
