Electronic Arts keeps on surprising fans with new Sims 4 content packs and content releases, the latest of which, Werewolves, came out just at the beginning of June.

For almost ten years, Sims 4 has been a cornerstone of the simulation gaming industry. Its new features, stunning graphics, and constant updates help the game's popularity. The number of players who have grown tired of the game, however, has also been increasing. But, in a community of players so diverse, a lot of simmers have been trying to come up with colorful challenges to renew the gameplay.

The Sims 4: Wolf Pack Challenge

Challenge Cats & Dogs Sims 4

When the Dogs & Cats pack was released, Simmers Hatsy, Steph0sims, and lilsimsie came up with this challenge to up the gameplay. Essentially, gamers have to create a Brindleton Bay household with one Sim, a wolf pack of six dogs, and one evil raccoon.

This Sim must live off the land by collecting, fishing, gardening, and sending their dogs to hunt. The funniest part is that the raccoon functions as the challenge's timer, so the difficulty is up to the player who will have to choose the animal's age. Besides, it adds an extra spice to the experience, since, according to its creators, it "doesn’t really do anything other than [making players' lives] miserable".

Homeless Challenge

As the name indicates, this challenge's goal is to survive as a homeless Sim. The character starts out with a total of zero simoleons, and they have to survive without a job and without owning a house. There are a few versions of this challenge with different, additional rules that must be strictly followed.

The Sim may never have a job, earning money for food through collecting or fishing, for example, or they must have specific traits. Because it is not the usual "from rags to riches" storyline, players seem to enjoy the added layer of difficulty of having no way to get rich quick in the game even more.

Shell Challenges

Shell challenges are still as popular today as they were five years ago.Simmers find a shell - a construction with only walls, nothing else - and have to, without deleting, moving, or adding any wall, build a building. Several top Sims YouTubers, like Plumbella or lilsimsie, have created shells ranging in size and difficulty and made them available to the remaining community.

Players can therefore indulge their creativity however they see fit. From Shire-inspired builds to huge jungle villages, "Shell Challenges" have provided so many Simmers with delicious touring moments.

100 Baby Challenge

The Sims 4 100 Baby Challenge

The goal of the "100 Baby Challenge" is "to give birth to 100 children in as few generations as possible". Simmers have to create a "matriarch", a completely customized Sim who can get pregnant or impregnate (it is possible to set this for either gender while in Create-A-Sim). The "matriarch" must get pregnant as fast as possible to start filling the household with babies.

These cannot be aged up and must survive until the end of the challenge, which occurs either when the 100th baby is born, or when rules are broken. If having a household with only one kid can sometimes be overwhelming for players, they must keep in mind that this challenge also requires a Young Adult to provide for the ever-growing family and the development of the children, so it can get tricky.

Not So Berry Legacy Challenge

lilsimsie is one of the best-known Simmers of the game's community today. The "Not So Berry Challenge" is one of her trademarks. It is basically a Legacy Challenge, which means that players have to grow a family from scratch without any cheats (and starting with zero simoleons).

The twist is that each generation is inspired by a given color: everything from clothing, hairstyle, traits, and aspirations, to in-game items, has to be chosen according to their corresponding color. For those more indecisive players, this provides very specific guidelines, taking them out of the Create-A-Sim and quickly into the story.

Build a City Challenge

This challenge has helped the community to realize how with The Sims 4EA developers have gone out of their way to produce the ultimate building experience for players. The Simmer chooses a world where they will evict all families and bulldoze every lot. Without traveling to any other world, "a single founder or a single founding couple" with random aspirations and traits must fill in the neighborhoods according to specific rules.

Whenever the world has one residential lot as well as five community lots, players can move on to another world. The challenge paves the way for any Simmer to conceive any world how they please, as well as for working out each story at will.

The Fatal Flaws Legacy Challenge

Another Legacy Challenge, "Fatal Flaws" is a great way to provide a naughtiness to the gameplay. The idea is to attribute to each generation one flaw, based upon which the family's history is constructed. Messing around with "negative" traits such as Jealousy, Materialism, Snobbery, or Laziness, can be quite a refreshing way to go about the game.

Through the years, Redditors have done some of the evilest things thanks to this challenge. Moreover, Simmers playing this challenge have the freedom to choose whether to follow through with the trait or try to overcome it.

The Forgotten Realms Legacy Challenge

For this challenge, @anxiousmoodlet drew inspiration from Dungeons & Dragons. It is a legacy challenge, but players have to check on DnD classes to frame each generation’s goals and story guidelines. Simmers can follow fantasy tropes on CAS and come up with characters such as sorcerers or vampires.

It is not a requirement because this concept also encourages players to use other packs or to adapt stuff from other challenges. The main goal, aside from following the basic legacy rules, is to develop a storyline throughout each generation.

The Black Widow Challenge

For those players who love the Serial Romantic aspiration, this is the way to go. A Sim with specific traits - - must marry, then kill their spouse, and inherit their wealth. The goal is to repeat this process ten times without any cheats while keeping all of the deceased's tombstones in the lot.

There are extra points awarded for any born children, and the fact that the Sim can only survive on the money they inherit hardens the game. It is a fantastic way to develop skills like charisma and to put them to mischievous but interesting use.

The Asylum Challenge

Asylum house sims 4

Originally created while The Sims 3 was at its peak, "The Asylum Challenge" is a great way to spice up the way players complete their aspirations. The main Sim has to have the insanity trait, as well as the other seven young adult Sims, who will have to be included in the household. None of them can be related, and Simmers can go wild with the other traits they have.

The idea is to complete the main Sim's aspiration while keeping an eye on the other Sims. If anyone dies beforehand, the challenge is lost. This challenge can also be mixed up with other challenges, for instance, one of the "Shell Challenges" for building the institution, which adds an extra layer of difficulty and fun to the gameplay.
