A cosplayer and The Sims fan has poked fun at the game's fire death mechanics while cosplaying as Bella Goth, one of the oldest characters in the life simulation series. The simple yet hilarious Sims cosplay makes for a quick and easy video game Halloween costume, with an added layer of mystery thanks to the many questions raised by Bella Goth in the games.

Even non-Sims players are familiar with the Grim Reaper and player deaths. The original Sims, released in 2000, reached meme-like status for the different ways players could kill their Sims, with the classic of course being the removal of a pool ladder. While later games in the franchise have given Sims the ability to pull themselves out of pools without a ladder, there is still a myriad of strange ways in which Sims can die. From chance-deaths like a Murphy bed closing in on a Sim, to a cooking accident that turns deadly, death has always been a big mechanic in the Sims series, and keeping Sims' autonomy on, leaving them with a low Cooking skill level, and unpausing the game can easily lead to the accidental death of a Sim as they go about their business.

Cosplayer snitchery's Sims cosplay is focused on a cooking-related death, with the artist cosplaying as Bella Goth on fire while cooking as the Grim Reaper looms. The look features Bella's iconic red dress and long, dark hair, with clever editing used to make the character appear to be on fire while holding a pan. Besides Bella, snitchery's brother as the Grim Reaper waits for the Sim to pass on, though Bella doesn't look too perturbed by the situation. snitchery, who can also be found on Instagram, captioned the funny cosplay: "your Sim, left unpaused for 3 seconds." The post has been a hit across social media, with even the official Sims Twitter account praising the look.

Bella Goth is perhaps one of the most interesting Sims characters, making her the perfect choice for hilarious yet spooky cosplay. Bella is the subject of many Sims conspiracy theories due to her sudden disappearance around the time that The Sims 2 takes place. The character had been part of the pre-made Sim family, the Goths, but was abducted by aliens shortly before the beginning of The Sims 2, something seen in the memories of her family and friends. While Bella Goth does appear in The Sims 4, it's been confirmed that she is an alternate reality version of the character and not the same Bella Goth who had been abducted and never returned. In The Sims 3, Bella appears as a child as the game serves as the earliest in the series' timeline.

The Sims games aren't typically remembered for their lore, but Bella Goth remains one of the most mysterious characters for longstanding fans of the series. It's possible that players will finally learn more about what happened to Bella when the next game in the franchise launches, though EA has yet to reveal when that might be. The Sims 4 continues to expand with additional paid content, and it seems the company is doubling down on Sims 4 for now, though news on The Sims 5 could come at any moment.
