A recent Twitter post has revealed the discovery of yet another unbelievable prediction made by The Simpsons about the Christmas release of the latest Matrix installment, The Matrix Resurrections. The show has become the longest-running American sitcom, as well as the longest-running American animated series in history, managing to accumulate dozens of awards over the course of the series' run. The animated series is known for its satirical portrayal of American culture and lifestyle, headed by the titular Simpson family.
The cast of The Simpsons has mostly remained the same over the years, including the likes of Dan Castellaneta as Homer Simpson, Julie Kavner as Marge Simpson, Nancy Cartwright as both Bart and Maggie Simpson, and Yeardley Smith as Lisa Simpson. The series is currently on season 33, which premiered on September 26, with a season 34 also on the way. Ever since the show's initial premiere in 1989, The Simpsons become infamous for predicting real-life incidents and moments within the show, only for it to come true much later.
In a recent post from Twitter user, lukeisamazing, an image was revealed from a much older episode of the show, showcasing a parody of The Matrix film. The image featured a fake poster titled A Matrix Christmas, sporting a snowfall that mirrors the Matrix's code and a Simpsons version of Matrix star, Keanu Reeves. As previously mentioned, the show has famously predicted significant moments and events that later occur in real life in either the far or near future. For instance, the 2000 episode, "Bart to the Future," had mentioned Donald Trump becoming president and leaving the nation bankrupt, showcasing him descending an escalator as a crowd surrounds him. This was sixteen years before Trump did take office and essentially recreated that animated shot almost completely. While many conspiracy theorists have their own things to say about these moments, many leave them down to coincidence, having such a long-running show can allow certain connections to occur.
Ultimately, this latest instance with the show predicting The Matrix Resurrections' release has emphasized just how insane these many "coincidences" over the show's history have become, leading to some moments being almost recreated entirely. Furthermore, with the series showing no signs of slowing down in the near future, audiences can rest assured that there can only be many more moments of insane predictions in future episodes. Audiences will have to await The Simpsons' return in the new year, on January 2, 2022, to find out.
