He is incredibly talented, being able to work every type of genre, never pigeonholing himself into one specific type of role. This has allowed him to be part of a variety of incredible movies.

Star Trek Into Darkness - 84% (2013)

One of the major franchises that Simon Pegg has been involved in throughout his career is Star Trek. He's been in all three of the reboot films and his involvement was fantastic. Taking on the role of Scotty, Simon really added a lot of great quality and charm to these movies.

This was the second of the three reboot movies and it saw the action and intensity really ramp up. While it is actually rated the weakest of the trilogy of movies, that doesn't mean it's a poor one, as the high rating shows.

Star Trek Beyond - 86% (2016)

For his final venture into space with the Star Trek world, Simon Pegg took on some extra responsibilities, working as a co-writer for this movie as well. This was a great film as it already had two movies to build from, which allowed things to really develop at this stage.

Those who had watched the other films were emotionally invested and this one was full of action and huge moments that had major consequences.

24 Hour Party People - 86% (2002)

24 Hour Party People was one of Simon Pegg's first-ever movie roles, and it has stood the test of time against many bigger projects he has done later on in life. This British comedy takes a focus on Manchester's music scene from the 70s to the 90s, taking a look at everything from raves to big indie bands such as Joy Division.

The film takes supposedly real stories to carve its plot, which is one of the reasons the movie connected so well with people. British audiences, in particular, found this film hilarious as the movie follows Tony Wilson, who is a news reporter that focuses on music.

The World’s End - 89% (2013)

Simon Pegg wore a lot of hats when it came to this movie, working as the screenwriter, producer, and lead actor. However, he pulled it all off with another fantastic movie, taking a simple pub crawl concept with a group of old friends and blending it into a great action film.

The cast in this movie is superb with the likes of Martin Freeman and Nick Frost having key parts. It is a classic apocalypse story but told in a unique and really entertaining manner which helped to make this a hilarious movie that was easy to relate with.

Hot Fuzz - 91% (2007)

Another movie that saw Simon Pegg work as both the lead actor and screenwriter was Hot Fuzz. This time taking a look at the British police force, it’s another hilarious movie that brings him and Nick Frost together yet again, which has always proven to be a successful partnership.

However, rather than focusing on major incidents like many police movies, this one took a twist by taking a great cop and put him into a small village. The pure lack of crime is what makes this film so funny until a major issue is uncovered.

Shaun Of The Dead - 92% (2004)

When it comes to comedy movies that Simon Pegg has been involved with, Shaun of the Dead is tough to top. Who would have thought that a zombie film would work so well as a comedy? It hits all the right notes, bringing laughs, scares, and emotion into one fantastic film.

There is another fantastic ensemble cast in this one and it comes together perfectly. Taking ordinary people and the different dynamics they have and shoving them into a zombie world where they have to survive proved to be a true formula for success here.

Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation - 93% (2015)

Simon Pegg might not be the first type of actor people think of when it comes to the Mission Impossible franchise, as he is certainly different to Tom Cruise. However, working as Benji Dunn has added a lot to the franchise as a technical agent, he is the man who knows how to work the technology behind a lot of Ethan Hunt's gadgets.

This movie sees Ethan on the run, basically living as a fugitive hoping not to get caught. The film takes place mainly out in Europe in the France and England, which is exciting. Dunn actually ends up captured in this film, with a bomb being placed on him which really makes his personal storyline full of drama.

Star Trek - 94% (2009)

This was the first Star Trek movie that Simon Pegg was involved with, which was a big deal for him as a major fan of the franchise. With J.J. Abrams at the helm as the director, this movie brought the popular franchise to a totally new audience with the modern twist on the characters really proving to be a hit.

Simon Pegg took on the role of Scotty, and he did a fantastic job with the character. The movie is classic science fiction done at its very best. It brought the world of Star Trek back to being as popular as ever, and the high rating it gained proves just how good the film is.

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol - 94% (2011)

Simon Pegg reprised his role as Benji here after first appearing in Mission Impossible III, and here he was given a larger role and more focus. The entire movie benefitted from his character having a larger focus as it really is a tremendous character to add into things.

The movie is well-known for Tom Cruise's insane stung climbing the Burj Khalifa, and that is just a small example of why this particular film is so great. The stunts and action are really ramped up within this one and it really helped to make the film have an increased sense of drama.

Mission: Impossible – Fallout - 97% (2018)

When it comes to Simon Pegg's greatest movie, it is another Mission Impossible movie that takes the top spot, proving just how consistently great the franchise is. It is the most recent instalment of the franchise and showcased that there is still tons of life left in Tom Cruise's hit property yet.

After one mission doesn't quite go to plan, Ethan Hunt and his group end up trying to track down some plutonium. Of course, things aren't that simple though as they are watched by the CIA throughout. Once again here, Simon Pegg does bring some nice comedic elements, but this is a character that has got a great blend of seriousness and fun, which makes him a brilliant addition to each movie.
