GOG has announced updates for five classic Konami titles, including Silent Hill and Metal Gear Solid. The games have been updated to provide a better experience for the player, with full controller support and other fixes. In celebration of the announcement, the iconic Konami games, which also include Castlevania and Contra, will be available at a discounted rate for a limited time.
Konami is the publisher of some of the best games of previous generations, and brought some of its most popular IPs to GOG last year. Games that were previously hard to play on modern systems, such as Silent Hill 4: The Room, were introduced to the PC platform to make access easier and faster for a new generation of gamers. In September 2020, GOG added classic Konami hits Metal Gear, Konami Collector's Series: Castlevania & Contra, Metal Gear Solid, and Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance. Just a month later, Silent Hill 4: The Room also came to GOG.
Announcing the news on Twitter, GOG has confirmed that the five Konami games released last year have now been updated. Metal Gear, Konami Collector's Series: Castlevania & Contra, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance, and Silent Hill 4: The Room now have full support for modern controllers and optimized keyboard bindings, along with a host of unspecified "smaller fixes." PC players who don't yet own any of the games can currently pick them up at a discount of 20 percent.

The introduction of full controller support makes purchasing the titles more appealing than ever. Silent Hill 4: The Room is known for its often problematic combat, and using a controller could make progressing through the horror a little easier for those who've struggled with keyboard and mouse. The 20 percent discount is also another incentive for getting one, if not all, the titles. Purchasing all five Konami games will set players back just over $33 for the duration of the promotion.
The Metal Gear games and Silent Hill 4: The Room are a worthwhile purchase for anyone still hoping for a remake or remaster. Rumors that Konami is planning to revisit some of its older IPs have fans hopeful for a new Metal Gear experience, though nothing has yet been confirmed. Silent Hill fans have been waiting for a new addition to the horror series since the cancelation of Silent Hills, and it's heavily believed that Bloober Team is working on a new game in the franchise. The developer of The Medium and The Blair Witch has partnered with Konami, and previously teased it's working on a very famous IP. While a Bloober Team Silent Hill hasn't been confirmed, fans haven't yet given up hope.
