You would have to be a pretty big star to be featured as yourself in a Pixar movie. Apparently, Weaver has reached that level of success as she voiced herself in this massively successful Pixar sequel. The story follows the forgetful fish Dory (voiced by Ellen DeGeneres) as she searches for her parents she lost years ago. Weaver provides the celebrity voice of a Marine Institute Dory visits.

Finding Dory might not quite live up to the original, but it is still full of Pixar magic. It's fun to see the old characters return as well as meet some fun new ones. And there are plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments to be had in this fun adventure.

The Ice Storm (7.4)

With all the big, high-concept films that Weaver is famous for, it's nice to see her in smaller, more intimate stories every so often. The story was set in 1973 and centers on a middle-class family getting together for the holidays and dealing with their various struggles.

Weaver is a great part of the impressive ensemble as the neighbor who is having an affair with Kline's family man character. The quiet, funny and moving movie is worth seeking out.

Snow Cake (7.5)

Snow Cake is another of Weaver's smaller films and probably the least well-known film on this list. But it's another great example of her range as an actor. The film stars Alan Rickman as a lonely man traumatized by a car accident who meets a high-functioning autistic woman (Weaver) who lost her daughter in the same accident. Together, they help each other navigate their own personal struggles.

It's great seeing two amazing actors like Weaver and Rickman in leading roles in a small drama. The story is touching and the performances are great which makes it a compelling little film.

A Monster Calls (7.5)

Weaver stars as the boy's strict grandmother who becomes his guardian.

Despite the fantasy elements of the films, this is a poignant tale about grief and how we deal with it in different ways.

Weaver returned to the sci-fi genre and reteamed with James Cameron for this ground-breaking epic. The film is set on a distant world of Pandora where humans attempt to connect with the native creatures of the planet while the government attempts to extract the planet's resources. Weaver plays a scientist who holds great respect for the aliens and wants to learn from them.

Annie Hall (8.0)

Woody Allen might be a director few people are willing to work with now, but there is no denying he has made some extremely popular films. Annie Hall might be the most acclaimed film in his long career. Allen stars as a neurotic comic who falls in love with a free spirit (Diane Keaton). The two continue to struggle with a passionate relationship despite now seeming to be right for each other.

Weaver has a tiny blink-and-you-miss-it role as one of Allen's other girlfriends. The movie is filled with irreverent humor that felt incredibly fresh at the time. Sadly, given Allen's current reputation, it's a difficult movie to revisit.

Weaver returned to her breakout role of Ellen Ripley in this action-packed sequel from James Cameron. Although Ripley was a true survivor in the first film, Aliens turns her into a genuine action hero. After waking up decades after the evens of the first film, Ripley joins a group of marines to go back to the planet where the alien was discovered and wipe out the threat once and for all.

Weaver is mesmerizing in the lead role which earned her a rare Oscar nomination for an action movie role. The rest of the cast is stellar and Cameron creates some truly thrilling sequences in a movie that lives up to its predecessor.
