Sideshow Collectibles has given its first look at its new Hot Toys import – a 1:6 scale figure of Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) in conjunction with Disney's upcoming high seas adventure Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Depp has gotten several toy representations of his movie character creations over the years, from action figures of Edward Scissorhands and Ichabod Crane from Sleepy Hollow (from McFarlane Toys), to figures of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland and Captain Jack from several different companies.

Perhaps no company has strove to creative a lifelike authenticity of the three-time Oscar nominated actor, though, than Hot Toys, whose products are distributed stateside by Sideshow. Since Dead Men Tell No Tales is the fifth film in the Pirates series, Hot Toys has boarded Depp's ship before to create Captain Jack, including a stunning figure of the character from the last Pirates film On Stranger Tides in 2011. But in a continual effort to improve upon the company's already impressive figures of Depp (they've also created figures of him from his titular role in Tim Burton's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, as well as Tonto from The Lone Ranger), the company is bringing Jack back in a new DX series release.

With less than two weeks to the May 26 debut of Dead Men Tell No Tales, Sideshow has just unveiled its first look at Captain Jack, which once again features a dead-on likeness of Depp. Here's part of the announcement from Sideshow:

"Made with meticulous craftsmanship, the remarkable head sculpt features 2 interchangeable faces with a patented Interchangeable Faces Technique and separate rolling eyeballs, highly intricate and brand new tailored costumes based on Jack Sparrow’s iconic outfit. A large assortment of weapons and accessories are also included to recreate the authentic likeness of this legendary pirate in the film. Along with the figure, it also comes with a surprisingly elaborated diorama figure stand inspired by his sailing adventures."

In addition to its hand-painted head sculpts and a meticulously-crafted costume, the nearly 12-inch tall figure comes with seven interchangeable hands, including a pair of hands for holding flintlock pistol; a pair of hands for holding sword or scabbard; a pair of hands showing Captain Jack's iconic gestures; and one index finger pointing right hand.

The figure also has a weapons assortment that includes a saber, a knife and two flintlock pistols; and several accessories including a scarf; a fake fur; a small batch of fabric hair on its belt; a compass; a short tube telescope; head sculpt of his mother with gold-color ornaments; a duck's foot sculpture; a rum bottle, a Jack Sparrow warrant poster, two wristbands; and the Black Pearl in a clear bottle. The figure also comes with a specially designed pirate themed diorama figure stand with translucent ocean water effect, a dead shark, and parts of a ship.

Hot Toys' Captain Jack Sparrow figure, which retails for $264.99, is slated to ship sometime between January to March 2018, and given the looks of the figure, it can't come soon enough. With any luck, Sideshow/Hot Toys will be announcing more DX figures of characters from Dead Men Tell No Tales fairly soon.
