The jaw-dropping finale of Showtime’s Yellowjackets has left fans wondering exactly where the series will go from there. The thrilling drama series ended up answering some vital questions, while raising even more before the end of the exhilarating last episode.

From the identity of the man in Jackie’s dream to the motivation of the group behind Natalie’s kidnapping, the series has a lot of unresolved storylines to continue in its second season. In the meantime, fans can only speculate about some of the most crucial questions after the show’s finale.

Where Is Javi Martinez?

One of the more disappointing parts of the finale is that despite having intelligent characters like Misty and Tai in the wilderness, no one seems to be too concerned about Javi’s disappearance. Only Nat and Travis are out in the forest looking for him, as the rest of the girls rest comfortably in the cabin.

The last time fans see Javi is during the disastrous Doomcoming night when he’s left alone and high on shrooms. It’s entirely possible that the bear may have gotten to him, which would explain why it’s so docile in front of Lottie.

Who Is Pit Girl?

The identity of the running girl in the first episode of the show is still a major question among fans who have dubbed her “pit girl” on Reddit and Twitter. Some were convinced that she could be Jackie, but viewers now know that’s impossible because of the events in the finale.

The identity of that character is important to the story because it’s the first and, so far, last time viewers see actual cannibalism in the series. With that sequence happening during winter, there’s a good chance season 2 may finally reveal who she is.

Who Is The Man In Jackie Taylor’s Vision?

A dusty corpse in Yellowjackets.

With Jackie’s death finally confirmed onscreen, the implications of her vision on the supernatural direction the show might take have fans debating whether her dying dream was just that or a hint at something paranormal.

The creepy man in the sequence may be the dead guy in the attic, but he could also be Coach Martinez. Either way, it raises questions about what he’s doing there with Laura Lee and the rest of the girls. Are they welcoming Jackie to the afterlife? Is it some kind of in-between place like Van mentions, and if so, why is the entire team (including the survivors) there?

Who Is The Eyeless Man Taissa Turner Keeps Seeing?

A man with no eyes in the mirror in Yellowjackets.

Aside from the creepy man in Jackie’s vision, fans may recall an even more chilling character who seems to only appear in front of Taissa. The man with no eyes is first seen in a mirror by a young Taissa and her dying grandmother, but makes a reappearance when she’s giving a press conference in front of her house.

The mysterious figure seemingly hasn’t affected the events in the series yet, but there’s no telling exactly what he might do in the future or why he even occasionally appears in Taissa’s life in the first place. Could he be responsible for some of the worst things that have happened in Yellowjackets?

Did Taissa Turner Knowingly Sacrifice Biscuit?

One of the most disturbing scenes in the finale happens in a hidden room in Taissa’s house. Simone boldly follows a trail of blood only to discover a horrifying scene, featuring Biscuit’s decapitated head, Sammy’s eyeless doll, and what looks like a human heart (that could be Adam’s).

Throughout the first season, Taissa claims that she’s unaware of what “the bad one” is doing, even though she seems to be certain that her sleepwalking self is capable of some horrible things. Could she really have been completely out of it while building the frightening shrine, though? Or did she knowingly sacrifice Biscuit and the other items to win the election?

Who Kidnapped Natalie Scatorccio?

The future of one of the most likable characters in Yellowjackets isn’t looking too bright after the finale. After almost following in Travis’ footsteps, Natalie’s suicide attempt is interrupted by a group of strangers wearing necklaces with a familiar symbol on them.

The symbol is first seen on the postcards Jeff used to blackmail the group and on a tree in the wilderness. It seems to be the logo for the potential cult built around the Yellowjackets themselves, but that doesn’t answer why they’ve gone after Natalie and what they plan on doing to her.

Is Lottie Matthews Alive?

Lottie has quickly become one of the best characters on Yellowjackets, in large part thanks to her growing role as the interpreter and leader in the supernatural aspect of the show. A voicemail from Nat’s ex-sponsor, Suzie, hints at the fact that Lottie may still be alive and could be the leader of the dangerous group or cult responsible for abducting Natalie.

That said, it’s entirely possible that the cult may involve completely different people who are just honoring Lottie’s legacy. It’s looking more like Lottie’s in charge, though, as a Variety article confirms there have already been casting discussions about who should play her adult counterpart.

Who Is The Antler Queen?

Since the very start of the season, fans have debated and discussed the possible identity of the “Antler Queen” or AQ. She’s the mysterious leader figure wearing antlers in the first episode who seems to be calling the shots in the group.

Now that Jackie is dead, fan theories pointing to her being the AQ have been disproven. The next likely candidate is Lottie, as the series has hinted at this possibility more than once – first with her vision of a deer shedding antlers and then during a scene where she stares at the cabin’s wall full of antlers. However, it’s possible that someone else like Nat or Tai could take on this role as well.

What Happens To Shauna’s Baby?

No one in the present day seems to be talking about the fate of Shauna’s baby, so it’s unclear exactly what has happened to the infant. It’s likely not Callie, as the timeline wouldn’t match up.

If she successfully delivers a healthy baby in the wilderness, what happens to the infant? Would the show become dark enough to kill an innocent child? Or has the baby grown up and is alive somewhere away from adult Shauna? It’s also interesting to think about how Jeff likely knows about the child, considering how he has gone through Shauna’s journals.

Why Was Travis Murdered?

It’s almost certain that Travis did not die by suicide, especially after what Suzie uncovers about his death in the finale. The wax around his site of death definitely hints at foul play, possibly by the same group that kidnapped Natalie.

It’s not clear why he was murdered, though. He seemed to be living a relatively quiet life away from everyone and working a regular job. Could he have uncovered something about the shadowy cult or threatened to reveal information about their time in the wilderness? Fans will have to wait and see exactly why Travis was targeted and who is responsible for his death.
