Riding on the high of the success of the ABC sitcom Black-ishKenya Barris decides to create a spin-off that centers on Zoey Johnson (Yara Shahidi) as she moves away to pursue a college education. The series currently airs on Freeform and is one of the best original series on the network.

Grown-ish takes a more series approach than The Kissing Booth 2 does when it comes to depicting the Gen-Z experience, but the two still have a lot in common. At the end of the day, both the film and the series are about friendship and love.

The Duff

The duff lead characters look at each other

The Duff is yet another teen rom-com to be adapted from a best selling novel, this one written by Kody Keplinger. The Duff follows Bianca Piper (Mae Whitman), a high school senior who discovers that she's the least attractive one of her friend group. Eventually, she enlists the help of her former childhood friend Westley (Robbie Amell) to help her transform her social status as a DUFF.

Degrassi: Next Class

Degrassi has long since been a staple for teen viewers everywhere and in 2016 the franchise made the jump to Netflix with the spin-off Degrassi: Next Class. Aimed at Gen-Z viewers, the series focused on real-life issues that are relevant to its audience, while also telling those swoon-worthy love stories fans love.

With an ensemble cast, there is someone for everyone to love. And like The Kissing Booth 2, these high schoolers are imperfect and sometimes make dumb choices in the name of love.

Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging

When it comes to teen rom-coms, Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging is grossly underrated. The Nickelodeon film was inspired by a young adult novel series and follows Georgia Nicholson (Georgia Groome), a freshman who is consumed with the need to find herself a boyfriend.

Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging is the perfect film to watch after The Kissing Booth 2 because they both have similar tones and themes. Audiences might cringe at Georgia's antics, but they'll also find her struggle deeply relatable and endearing.
