Shin Megami Tensei V’s Mother Harlot is not exactly the easiest boss to beat, but consistent healing and stat altering will help players defeat her. Mother Harlot is available as part of the Return of the True King paid DLC that was released November 11, 2021, and features the battle of the Nine Fiends. The DLC has characters similar to those in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne, and Mother Harlot is one of these fiends.
Players have to first speak with Sophia at the World of Shadows to access these fiends. Then, Mother Harlot will be found in Yoyogi Park, in the North Wing of the West Plaza. When defeated, Mother Harlot is unlocked for fusion, a rare event, and players will earn the Menorah of Beauty.
As with any other boss in Shin Megami Tensei V, players need to arrive prepared to fight Mother Harlot. It is crucial to have a party with specific abilities. As one of the most challenging demons, Mother Harlot is at level 64 when players encounter her. Players should focus on building a party with strengths in force and resistance to almighty, fire, and electric attacks.
Fighting Mother Harlot in Shin Megami Tensei V
If accompanying demons do not have powerful force abilities, players should buy force gems at the shop before taking on Shin Megami Tensei V’s seven-headed Mother Harlot demon boss. This boss reflects physical attacks. Players will not get through this battle with the brute force of physical hits. They should instead be prepared with any shop gems or shards that will help, especially the Force Shard that enhances force attacks.
Stats alterations are crucial against Mother Harlot. Players should consider using demons who can alter Tarunda, Rakunda, and Sukunda as well. They should plan to weaken Mother Harlot with demons' abilities and consistently heal party members to prepare for successful force attacks. Or, if preferred, players may lower enemy stats while using force attacks, so long as they maintain healing as well.
Players could start the fight by lowering Mother Harlot's Sukunda, decreasing the boss' ability to land and evade hits. Then, they can work on lowering Rakunda, allowing force attacks to land well. Players have to be strategic when choosing the order of moves in this fight.
As Mother Harlot's HP lowers, it will begin to attack with powerful fire moves, and players need to be strong and ready for these. It is possible that one party demon will be down by this point but that at most. Players should focus on enhancing their party's attack, health, and defense strategically while landing hits to be successful at defeating Mother Harlot in Shin Megami Tensei V.
