An upcoming remake of the 1999 romantic comedy film She's All That, entitled He's All That, cast TikTok star Addison Rae Easterling in a leading role. She's All That, which stars Freddie Prinze Jr. and Rachael Leigh Cook, is the story of a popular high school jock (Prinze Jr.) attempting to make-over a 'dorky' and unpopular girl (Cook) after he's dumped by his girlfriend. Although the movie received mixed critical reviews, it has since become somewhat of a cult-classic. The film—which is a retelling of George Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion" and My Fair Lady—also starred other '90s icons including Matthew Lillard, Usher, Lil' Kim, and Gabrielle Union.

Back in 2015, with Hollywood swimming in nostalgia, there were rumors that She's All That would be getting a remake. Not much information was revealed, though. Miramax, the studio behind the original, initially denied that a reboot was happening. Up until now, no other information regarding another film had been released.

According to Variety, Easterling has been cast in the remake—but it's not for the role fans might expect. Instead of remaking the exact same movie, the upcoming film will be a gender-swapped retelling, hence the flipped title He's All That. Easterling will play a teenage influencer who, much like Prinze Jr.'s character in the original, tries to make a nerdy boy popular. So far, there's no word on who will be playing the role opposite Easterling.

Many She's All That alums are returning to work on He's All That. R. Lee Fleming, the writer of the first, will also pen the reboot, while original producers Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay are set to come back. Miramax will be behind the new film. Mark Waters, the veteran filmmaker behind Mean Girls and Freaky Friday, will be the new director.

She's All That capitalized on some iconic actors and musicians of the '90s and early 2000s, and it appears as though the remake is doing the same by utilizing icons of the modern age. Easterling is one of the most popular figures on TikTok, with more than 58 million followers on the app and an estimated $5 million in earnings from endorsements in 2019 alone. The 19-year-old has yet to act in any film or TV roles but recently signed with talent agency WME. Easterling will be one of the first TikTok stars to act in a major movie, and although she does not yet have formal training, she'll be sure to bring in a big audience when He's All That is finished.
